we moved to lincoln maybe 2 months ago, our gas has been turned off, water shut off twice, vinyl flooring replaced, ( because it smelled like animal urine) several things broken, our carpter still smells like pee after me and my hubby shampooing it 50000 tines, i have had 0 positive things to say about Lincoln.
Sounds like your house is super old. Overall I think lincoln housing is ran ok. They do that fair at Lake Oneill and give away prizes. I will say though that the gym at the housing office sucks! Machines are breaking left and right over there and they have not been fixing them. For ants we found that Terro works better then anything.
No matter where you live unless you own your own home things happen. What matters is wether or not the rental company takes care of the problem. Yes they may use cheap stuff and it may brake here and there but they always fix it. Try renting out in town and see how fast things get fixed or how often you have to pay for things yourself.
the problem is the "rental company" IE lincolin military isnt taking care of it. i have to call and call and call and call and bitch over and over again for the smallest thing to get fixed. and now termites, i have had just enough crap.

I honestly think it's just the del mar district. We have had issues with them since we moved into our house in Pacific View. The first house they offered us was HORRIBLE! Crayon/marker on the wall, broken towel racks, a layer of dust so thick it was gross, nasty stains on the carpet. It was horrible. The house we actually took was nice. The only issue we are having now is when we moved in here there was a direct tv dish behind our house that someone left, housing charged them but never removed it so now we have to remove it. Oh and the ladies in the del mar office, for the most part are rude.
When we lived in Stuart Mesa we had no issues except for the mice. I loved our district office, they did so much for the little community.

I agree, I have think some districts are better than others. If we have any problem its fixed that day or the next. I called at 3pm about something one time and I had someone at my house within 15 minutes.
San Onf 1 is really good. We had our frig go out and someone was here replacing it within the hour. Needed a screen for our sliding glass doors with pet guard, they were here the next day..Couldnt figure out how to work the heat, they were here within a few minutes of my hanging up. All in all, i must say that they have been good to us all the way through three states!
I live in south Mesa 1 & the house is less than three years old and beautiful & I've never had any problems it's just if u choose to live in the old houses then I'm sure there will be issues as with any housing company :)
I guess it's just luck of the draw. I've never had an issue with Lincoln. I lived in Stuart Mesa and they always came out promptly when I had an issue. I had an ant problem but we used Terro since I don't like them spraying and they were gone. Terro works AMAZINGLY so if you have a problem, use it. Super cheap too. Now I live in San O 1 and my fence was broken and my mailbox key didn't work. The VERY next day it was fixed. I had two brand new mailbox keys and my fence works perfectly.
Oh ya. I totally agree with the state ment about the Del Mar District housing. We live in Pacific view housing and we are trying to transfer out of there over to another district. The people at the officer are so slow and they seem to have an additude alot of the time.
OP its not Lincoln, You just moved into one of the oldest if not the oldest housing areas on base. You are going to have more problems in a house that was built many many years ago compared to newer homes.
Mice are also a fact of life. They need a place to live too.
You can't possibly eliminate every critter and creature you don't like.
I agree but when they are pooping on my counters it becomes a problem, or when the die behind my stove that becomes a problem. The ONLY time I had an issue with mice is when they were clearing the field behind stuart mesa to start the construction for the new housing. I am not trying to eliminate critters but would like it if they didn't make a home in my kitchen lol
I've been dealing with Lincoln for over 5 years and have never had a problem. Whenever I report a problem it is fixed that day or the very next day. When we lived off base, I reported a water leak, through a light fixture and it took them 2 WEEKS to fix! I kept calling mentioning that the leak was a major fire hazard and their suggestion was to make sure not to turn that light on...it was our KITCHEN light! I can promise you that you will experience problems with any type of property management company. Termites, ants and mice are not something that a property manager can have any control over!!

When I lived out in town, our roof was leaking BADLY (mind you, this was in San Juan Capistrano and a very well known management company *cough LYON MANAGEMENT) It took them two weeks just to come out and look at it. Then the guy tore the whole upstairs loft apart where the water was leaking down from (basically from the ceiling to the ledge banister was torn apart) Took them another 3 three weeks or so just to finally fix it and all they did was replace what they tore up and painted over the dirty water marks.

Their habitat was disturbed, they had to find a new home - yours just happened to be it!
It happens everywhere - it's not because the housing is shoddy or the tenants don't keep things clean. I had mice in my kitchen drawers. Had to empty everything out and set traps.
Everyone deals with these little annoyances. It's not the housing office's fault.
