SO here is my question, when going places does the lack of parking ever prevent you from going back even if you really love the place?
Im opening a business but one of the other places in the center is always crowded and can make parking a pain sometimes and im curious if this is going to affect my business?

alwaysright --- 12 years ago -

It depends on how much I need whatever said business has and if I am able to get it somewhere else at a competitive price.

I agree, it also depends on how badly the parking is. I don't eat out often, but when I do it's a place I love, you'll have loyal customers who will come back no matter what, but you may never receive loyal customers if you don't have any parking in the first place.

thats my fear, im working with the landlord of the property to make reserved spaces for my area even if its just a few it will help hopefully

I have a suburban and 4 kids. I avoid places where it is hard to park. If the parking is decent or there is marked parking, I will brave it with all 4 kids if I love the place. That is a tough choice, depends really on what it is to.

Is it that the parking is just going to be further away or is there NO other parking available?

The reason I ask, there is a restaurant around here, we had reservations for. Heard it was great so we wanted to go try it. We drove over an hour to get there. There was NO parking available. It was in a downtown type area that people parked on the street mostly and any small parking lots were full until he drove around for over 20 minutes waiting for someone to leave so he could find parking. Finally found a parking lot about 4 blocks away and parked in it. Because it took so long to find parking, we lost our reservations.

Situations like that, I'd say I wouldn't go back.
If it's just busy and you can park but might not be RIGHT in front of the business, it's not so bad. I don't mind walking from the other end of the parking lot or a block away. But if I have to drive around for 20 minutes before a spot becomes available, I'm not going to try that again.

There is parking right in front...but there's a popular bjs in the same little center and when that's crowded the customers from there tend to take over the little business spots too:( not sure who's bright idea it was to make a lot so small for the amount of shops there....

Is it in Temecula?

Somebody --- 12 years ago -

yes
why?

Somebody --- 12 years ago -

any other thoughts on this subject?
every little bit helps thank you

I was just asking because the issues sounded like the ones in that parking lot. PMCU used to have the end spot of the strip mall across from BJs. FWIW the parking issue never prevented me from going to my bank when I lived there. :-)

I didn't either and I'm young. "For What It's Worth".

accountnickname --- 12 years ago -

I'm not young. I don't know a lot of the text-type that is common now, but I've been using that acronym for a long time. Sorry for confusing you.

Somebody --- 12 years ago -

oh im not old either hahaha but thanks so much for the input! its very helpful:)
Im getting it in my contract to have reserved spaces! yay

Clinical Depression --- 12 years ago -

It depends, but yes, parking would deter me. If the only parking is co-mingled with the rest of the complex and it's limited to two lots that are always packed and no other lots in sight the food had better be stellar for me to park in the nosebleed parking lot that's separate from the complex lot.

I hate that Temecula parking lot!!! Everytime we went to eat there, we drove around for 20+ minutes waiting for a parking spot! So irritating. However, if your business is a place I can come to during non peak hours for bj's.. Then I would be good!

Somebody --- 12 years ago -

yes it is Kaylay:)
