I hate it when you give people something for free and then they turn around and put it right back on PYS to sell.

BlueBettas --- 1 years ago -

Me too! I believe if you get it for free, and don't want it anymore, you should give it away for free. That's what I did with an elliptical machine I got.
I had a friend who was moving, so she needed to get rid of some of her stuff. Her neighbor gave her a sob story about being in need, so my friend gave her a few things. A week later this neighbor held a yard sale selling all the stuff my friend gave her, as well as stuff that had gone missing from my friend's house and magically appeared at the neighbor's yard sale.

GardenWitch --- 1 years ago -

I cart my giveaway stuff to the thrift stores. If they want it that bad they can pay something for it first!!

CincinnatiMommy --- 1 years ago -

i gave this woman my puppy for free, crate, dog bed,food/water bowl, leash, toys, treats ect and now she posted her back on there with everything for $100. Isnt it not allowed on pendelton to sell pets anyway? i told her i would like her back and she said she put money into her putting her thru training and stuff..shes only had her a few weeks and the puppy is only 13 weeks old. Is this possible?

ChikyPoo --- 1 years ago -

On the prohibited list, an animal under a year old cannot be sold on PYS only given away. Also, a dog cannot cost over $100. I wish people would read the list of what can and cannot be posted.

Puppy sales are forbidden (free is ok, but specify "free" as the price). We recognize that pets need homes, and thus we allow individual adoption postings for under $100 for dogs over one year of age. Anything else that may have the appearance otherwise will likely be flagged and removed. Additionally, stud services are prohibited. All animal sales are forbidden on military bases/posts (it's illegal). The breeding and raising of pets on Government property for the express purpose of profit is prohibited. All pet listings must have prices. If there is no price, then it must explicitly say "FREE". No wanted listings for pets may be posted.

& i know this is off topic, but babysitting ads should all be removed unless they are FCC certified on base or certified through the state off base. Little do the uncertified women on base know that they are providing an ILLEGAL service which can affect them.

Alisa --- 1 years ago -

I have to disagree on the child care. I am a certified IHSS provider, and should be able to offer my services to other families with special needs children, who are approved IHSS clients, on base. I think there are exceptions to the rules and people are to quick to judge others. If someone wanted to offer free respite care to a family during a deployment that should be aloud. Not flagged by FCC providers because they are not getting the business.

puppylove --- 1 years ago -

Depending on how she states the ad it might be ok. But the puppy would be free it would be the extra stuff you are paying for. Now I'm not saying its right to sell a puppy or a dog after getting it for Fred however you did rehome the dog so it's no longer your dog and you have no say in what happens to it. Also training can be costly depending on where you go.

CincinnatiMommy --- 1 years ago -

what i was asking is if a dog that little is even able to be put thru training.

YouReallyThinkSo --- 1 years ago -

It depends on the trainer. If its one on one training than they could but its not recommended and any good trainer wouldnt have a dog that young in a group training class or a place where other animals are all the time. Its actually recommended to keep dogs that young in your home, to not take them out much because of parvo and all the other things small puppies can catch.

puppylove --- 1 years ago -

There are puppy training classes or puppy play groups almost at every training center but the dog has to have the first set if shots.

YouReallyThinkSo --- 1 years ago -

I have always been told it needs to have all shots. They are not effective until a puppy has had all of them. Not just the first set.

puppylove --- 1 years ago -

The places I have gone have been first set of shots and under 6 months. But either way it doesn't matter the dog is not the OP if she wanted a say in what happened to the dog she have kept it or written a contract with the new owner. I feel bad for the dog because it has had multiple homes before its year old.

CincinnatiMommy --- 1 years ago -

Uhm ok... way to be rude, your right i do not have a say in what happens to the dog im just saying it pisses me off to know i gave her everything i paid goood money for plus the dog that i paid for for free and she is selling her. I think she is being shady about it and lying because i have contacted her a few times saying if she had proof of the training and shots i will pay the 100 to get her back and she just ignores me.

whats so wrong about people selling stuff they got for free GHESHhh...
(:

shizzlemydizzle --- 1 years ago -

Maybe you should have been more particular who you gave the pup to, to begin with.

CincinnatiMommy --- 1 years ago -

lol...yeah ok.

namenotalreadytaken --- 1 years ago -

It irritates me to no end all the people selling their pets, I realize some circumstances are unavoidable but a majority of the timing proper planning can avoid that. If you're not keeping your pet for life do not get one in the first place. They're family members..people who say they can't have their pet at their new home make me furious. So why wouldn't you take the time to find a place that accepts pets!! Or the ones ohh I just got this puppy and don't have the time for it...ummm what were you thinking when you got it. Ahhhhh drives me çrazy! Sorry nothing against you Cincinnati just this topic hits a nerve

kelly --- 1 years ago -

Some people just have no morals. What really irritates me is when I see huggies camo diaper boxes for sale when you know they got them from diaper giveaways for free. Makes me sick, but you know...what goes around, comes around. :-)

YouReallyThinkSo --- 1 years ago -

I seen the Camo diapers at Walmart so they could have purchased them. But if they did get them for free its a shame.

puppylove --- 1 years ago -

I think diapers are a little different then a pet. Not saying you should sell something you got for free but a pet should be a member of your family forever.

Who would have that many boxes of unopened diapers and not return them for FULL price instead of shorting themselves?

My thoughts exactly. And it was very soon after both SD YMCA and CP YMCA had their annual diaper giveaways.

RUserious --- 1 years ago -

RUserious --- 1 years ago -

SHE JUST GOT PAID! person who bought them was dumb.

shizzlemydizzle --- 1 years ago -

Maybe because they don't have the receipt?

I have tons of stuff with the tags still on because I can't find the receipt or I waited too long to return.

YouReallyThinkSo --- 1 years ago -

I have a huge diaper stash. I stock up on good sales and good coupons. Like right now rite aide has a sale and if you pair it with a coupon you can get huggies or goodnight pull ups (which are usually pretty pricey) for 3 bucks a package. I also have razors, shave cream, shampoo and all that kind of stuff. I know I have some cause Walmart had them on clearance and I had coupons and they cost me less than 5 box. I personally hate returning things. If I can sell it and get close to what I paid that's what I do.
