I knew someone who got a huge Marine wife tattoo on her back with her husbands name in it. I mean HUGE and a couple months later they separated. They are now divorced and she has this hideous tattoo.
I know a handful of wives who have Marine Corps tattoos and wear tons of moto gear. I will admit I used to wear some proud girlfriend shirts as well as his dog tags, however, that was when we were long distance! My husband would never allow it now- he doesn't want me to bring attention that my SO is military and might be away.
I have a USMC hoodie but that's it. I was freezing and we were out and about and it was all we could find. I still wear it cause its really comfy. And my post preggo belly fits in it. Still working on loosing the baby weight...It seems never ending, lol.
Not only a spouse, but a vet here. I DO NOT HAVE ANY TATTOO for the Corps. I do not wear any gear bc much like RUserious and ChefsDoItBetter3, it's really not that safe. I think the extent is wearing one of my old green shirts to clean...or clean with them lol. Oh goodness...and the hardest job isn't being a wife in the Corps. It's being a Marine, Wife and Mother. That's the hardest job EVER!
I have the jet my husband worked on tattooed on me, I suppose that counts in the "retarded" realm of tattoos but it was an inside joke we had for the longest time, and I have enough other tattoos (he has zero tattoos at all), that one more wasn't going to break my beauty (or lack there of haha)
and I have no issue admitting I'm a motard wife. I wouldn't say I'm overkill by any means, and I don't like most of the slogans out there pertaining to it, but I have a jacket with a tiny ega emblem on it, and he gave me cammie onsies before I was even pregnant, which was sweet because he is the polar opposite of motard, and it was his way of saying, "I'm ready to have a baby"
before i moved to camp pendleton I think I owned 2 shirts with usmc, nothing wrong with that, just the women who puts it all over their cars, own every kind of Digital print everything, and the im a marine wife and im Royalty crap...they be the main ones have relationship problems...i dont understand, Oh wait let me not leave out the facebook crap! They complain on how their marriage sucks, he is cheating and all that dumb sh*t and then turn around and put up a Marine Wife sticker/photo. Delusional.

My husband's recruiting command sent out an email to the spouses asking us to wear moto stuff, dress our kids in moto stuff, have moto car stuff, and walk around with our husband's business cards. I laughed but my husband says it might help so I'm going to buy a few things. Oh well.

It's true because our husbands are basicly solicitors and sales men. (mines a recruiter now too) So, by wearing the stuff it is advertising. As long as you're not yelling at a store clerk wearing your USMC shirt, hahah.
If someone wants to be moto and proud of their husband let them. Is it hurting you? I have seen some stupid tats but it's not hurting you. Let them wear the t-shirts, and have stupid tats on them forever. It's them not you!

No one is forcing anyone to go into laser surgery, and no one is ripping off their shirts and burning them. So, in essence everyone is "letting them". It's not much different than taking notice about someone in any physical way. I'm a motard wife, and I'm not offended by someone not approving of what I wear or decide to plaster on my car or home. It's irrelevant what a person thinks of "me". I saw some quote the other day along the lines of, "you either like me or you don't. It took me twenty- something years to learn to love myself. I don't have that kind of time to convince someone else."
At one time, my husband was also a recruiter, and the command and SNCOIC encouraged us to "brand" ourselves, well because in non military towns like we were in, it stands out. But here, it's just stupid. Obviously everyone knows your military if you have a base sticker and out of town plates...so why "brand" your vehicle and self...and me personally, i'm just not that motivated anymore. It was fun to get my "marine wife" plate when we first got married...but i'm over that now...being married to the marine corps after while gets tiring!
DaniP...lol you must be a die hard Moto person, you really went off for no reason at all. No it dont hurt me for wives to wear shirts, or stickers on cars...I was just trying to start a interesting thread...but thank you for stopping by and giving your opinion...it must have hit the heart pretty bad. Basically my point was to not be delusional.
