New survey says women admit that their husbands are better cooks than they are. 11% said have never prepared roasted meat, 5% cant boil eggs!

I thought this was interesting...How about the ladies here??

Lula Belle --- 13 years ago -

5% cant boil eggs

I boiled some eggs for at least an hour the other day :/. I can boil eggs lol I just got busy doing something with my son and forgot about them.

I'll admit my husband does 90% of the cooking..ok more like 99.9% but if it came down to it I could kinda cook, and definitely know how to boil eggs :)

AussieGirl --- 13 years ago -

My husband is an awesome microwaver, that's about it.. We often joke he only married me because I can cook!

ahaha same here... if i ask my husband to cook dinner he'll order a pizza, or say were going out. LOL

I on the other hand i can be in the kitchen all day and be fine with it. as long as it's a good size kitchen, i hate small ones. blah

My husband is in his 30s and is just now learning how to make anything out of complete necessity (we have to live apart for a few months). I have to give him a very detailed recipe plus a shopping list first. So far he has accomplished tacos, chile, shrimp alfredo (using jarred sauce) and some different sandwiches he made on his little sandwich grill.

Yep, I'm a better cook by far. But then I've been cooking since I was in high school because my mom had health problems. I made my first Thanksgiving dinner when I was 17.

ooorah69P --- 13 years ago -

I learned to cook out of necessity. My ex only cooked smelly fish, rice and some Filipino food. She did eventually learn to cook some good spaghetti, but that was it.

Now i enjoy cooking. I wish i'd gone to a culinary school or something. But i've settled for the Food Network and Travel Channel instead..lol

So I found this study. It's from last year and was done in England. I honestly doubt that the exact same results would be found here. I lived in England for 4 years and the way making meals was treated was just different. For example most people only had these little fridges and would have to go to the store most every day if they were going to be cooking every day. The stoves are also smaller. We never had one big enough to cook a whole turkey in. While I do think that the ability to cook is on a constant decline, I do think that England is ahead of us on this. Also men are probably more likely to cook there just because the social views of that are different than here.

My husband and I both cook, mostly homemade. We can bake and can our own foods too. It's fun with both of us in the kitchen. Neither of us "need" the other for cooking purposes, but we enjoy each others meals.

DocsWife --- 13 years ago -

My husband is a much better cook than me. He was doing all kinds of gourmet meals when we were dating. I'm learning still...

Hokey*Pokey --- 13 years ago -

I asked my husband to make enchiladas the other day. Mind you, this was a box kit that has like 4 steps in the directions and is super easy. He couldn't do it, lol

Apocalypse --- 13 years ago -

My husband wanted to be a chef when he was growing up and he can cook really good. He was suppose to go to college for it. However I do all the cooking. He hardly ever cooks. haha

HereAgain --- 13 years ago -

My husband can't cook.

....we'll he does make some awesome grilled cheeses.

Poe --- 13 years ago -

There is something sexy about a man that can cook.

puppylove --- 13 years ago -

My husband is a horrible cook. He just recently learned how to grill and that's the only thing he is allowed to do because he burns food and I don't want my pans hurts.

Abbie Normal --- 13 years ago -

I do the majority of the cooking, but for some reason or another, I always mess up boiling eggs! I can cook just fine, but boiling eggs, I fudge up. :p

IrishTwinsx2plus1 --- 13 years ago -

I hate cooking and food shopping is the worst kind of shopping there is, so when my husband is here, he does the majority of the cooking. He loves it, he's an excellent cook, we are so spoiled, and he does all of the food shopping.

A lot of people don't cook eggs correctly, don't feel bad. :)

Add the eggs to a pan, preferably covering the whole bottom of the pan. Add enough water to cover. Put the lid on and bring just to a boil. Leaving the pan and lid alone, turn off the heat (or drop to the lowest setting) and leave for 10 mins. Then drop the eggs into an ice bath so the outsides of the yolk won't be icky and green. The amount of time it needs to sit in the hot water will change a little based on your elevation, so add or subtract time as needed based on where you are.

HavingaBOY --- 13 years ago -

i want deviled eggs now lol...mmmm

HavingaBOY --- 13 years ago -

i do all the cooking and grocery shopping. lol if my husband went grocery shopping we would end up with a ton of frozen foods, corn dogs, and beer lol

kristin40 --- 13 years ago -

Grocery shopping is a HUGE pain. I need to buy stock in some of the supermarkets since I spend half my time and money there.

Don't even get me started on cooking it all. I can't keep my husband or kids home long enough to sit down at the table to eat.

vnessa --- 13 years ago -

Its always been known that the best cooks around the world are MEN. just saying lol

GardenWitch --- 13 years ago -

My husband's cooking skills consist of spaghetti with a jarred sauce, eggs, frozen pizza....

If you are shopping in town a lot, check out UPromise. It gives you a credit on items and you can roll it over into a college savings plan.

BSoule --- 13 years ago -

Neither of us cook! haha. The microwave and taco bell are our best friends!

I do cook occasionally and it doesn't taste too bad, I just hate it.
