POLL: Birth control

I know this is sooo over done on here, but I'm doing it again, sorry! Anyway I've only been on bc 2 months out of my entire life. I don't really know very much about the different kinds or which would be best. I could just google it, but there's nothing like reading it straight from the user's fingers. So which kind do you use? Also, please share your experiences with others.

Fertility Awareness Method

Lula Belle --- 13 years ago -

I plan to use para guard.

Is there a specific reason?

BaylesObedience --- 13 years ago -

my tubes are being tied after this bby so thats my method...i finaly got my paper done and took the class

i liked the nuva ring tho out of them all that u listed tho

RealityBites --- 13 years ago -

Whatever you do, do not get Implanon. I was on it for about 6 months before I had to get it taken out because of all the bad side affects. I prefer the pill personally because its easy and I just set an alarm every day to remember to take it. No problems or side affects.

Fertility Awareness Method

That's the method I used as well hormonal birth control wrecks havoc on my body. Also I'm not to keen on the idea of something being placed in my uterus that could pierce thorough it and cause infertility.

MommaNanny --- 13 years ago -

I like nuva ring. I have been on it about 5 months. So far i havent had any problems. I had alot of side effects with the pill and the shot.

Maureen --- 13 years ago -

I was on the pill and got pregnant (ended in MC) and then had the Depo shot after delivering our last baby. That thing is like poison. Never again!

HavingaBOY --- 13 years ago -

Stay far far far away from the depo shot! It gave us infertility problems...I hate that dang thing!

I do not do well on hormones and I'm not comfortable with a non-hormonal IUD that does not help prevent conception. Personally in my 13.5 years of using FAM I have had a 100% success rate. I became pregnant when I wanted the first month all 3 times we decided to, and never became pregnant accidentally.

DramaLlamasMomma --- 13 years ago -

Before baby I was on the pill (Ortho Novum 777) for 5 years. Baby was planned so I was off the pill at the time. As soon as I'm done breastfeeding I'll be back on it. I'm not comfortable with any of the IUDs and I can't really take any hormonal BC right now so it's just condoms for now.

Mirena is the debil.

SoonToBeJD --- 13 years ago -

I'm on the pill, but switching to Mirena. I get pregnant on Depo and I was a crazy biatch.

shizzlemydizzle --- 13 years ago -

You're like 21 yrs old, how did it give you infertility problems????

Birth control can take up to 2 yrs to be out of your system.

Trace --- 13 years ago -

Depo is known to give fertility problems. You couldn't pay me to take it.

For us, our birth control is called infertility and it works like a charm.

Rex Beavers --- 13 years ago -

The pull out method.

HollyGoLightly --- 13 years ago -

I havent gotten pregnant yet!

A lot of people start taking birth control verrrry early. Not saying that she did.

I was on depo for years and loved it. No periods, not too much weight gain, nothing. I did have VERY heavy periods when I came off it, but that was anticipated and expected.

We were never really trying to have or prevent having a baby so I can't say much about fertility. I went off it, and it was about 2 years before I got pregnant, but hubby did a deployment and 2 trips to Yuma in that time frame so we weren't worried too much.

Booger123x --- 13 years ago -

The pill. If you forget just go for the butt or swallow.

Amanda Huginkiss --- 13 years ago -

You're going to have amazing skin at age 70!!

Liz~*Celebrating Home *~ --- 13 years ago -

My friend has the Implanon and I was thinking of getting that too after I have the baby.

*All Smiles* --- 13 years ago -

I had the Mirena until my husband had a vasectomy. I LOVED the Mirena. Easiest bc ever.

champatlife --- 13 years ago -

I use natural family planning- compared to may on the undergrounds I have a higher percent of effectiveness.

(aka not gotten pregnant unless we were trying- and we have one a span of 5 years between our first and 2nd.)

Pink Taco --- 13 years ago -

There has been people having problems w/ NuvaRing, it's been on TV. I am one of them, I used it for 2 years, I loved it... however in 2010 I went to the ER w/ pain in my chest and back. Turned out I had P.E. (Pulmonary Embolisms)/ blood clots in my lungs. I have always been healthy. They said it had to do with me smoking also, but I didn't even smoke much, like a cig or 2 a day. Anyway, as much as a I loved the NuvaRing, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. P.E. or any blood clots period aren't a good thing. After this baby, I'm thinking of getting the Para-Gard.

champatlife --- 13 years ago -

^^^ one of the many reasons I can't bring myself to take birth control- infertility, cervical cancer, blood clots. It freaks me out, but almost all medication side affects are enough to make me not take anything unless it's a life or death situation (or close to it)

champatlife --- 13 years ago -

Para-Guard.

is that a patch? because my doc said it has a higher chance of blood clots than others.
