How many of you had to get the lovely rhogam shot?

kikomon --- 13 years ago -

i did!

Indie Lady x --- 13 years ago -

It hurts so bad. how many times did you have to get it? I had mine awhile back ago I was 7 weeks when I got it.

kikomon --- 13 years ago -

7 weeks! your suppose to get it at like 20 weeks i think and after u have the baby. unless u had a miscarriage then after that also. i never heard of getting it that early.

Trace --- 13 years ago -

They usually give it around 28 weeks and then again after the baby is born. Both my girls ended up being O neg so I didn't need it after they were born.

Toodles --- 13 years ago -

I've had it... 4 times. Before and after each baby was born.

*Target lady has a secret* --- 13 years ago -

I did with both pregnancies (first was a miscarriage and then with my son).

Giggle Butt --- 13 years ago -

Me. And good thing I did! My daughter was + and I am -.

I had a car accident (almost) and had to go to ER.

Hokey*Pokey --- 13 years ago -

I've had a few times when i was pregant and gave birth to my kids. Both my kids are +

IrishTwinsx2plus1 --- 13 years ago -

All 5 of my kids are +, so I've gotten it several times. LOL Around 26-28 weeks and within 48 hours of delivery.

laneys mommy --- 13 years ago -

I've had 5. They didn't bother me. But neither do blood draws, Ivs, ect.

Indie Lady x --- 13 years ago -

Well the reason I got it so early was because I had a sono done the day before ( the transvaginal one ) anyway it brought down old blood, tmi I know. anyway I freaked out and went to the hospital and they made me get the rhogam shot just in case. They told me I would have to get it again when I am closer to having the babies.

Indie Lady x --- 13 years ago -

My husband and I both have negative blood, I wonder what the babies blood type will be.

Toodles --- 13 years ago -

If you are your husband are both - from my understanding, you don't need the shot.

Indie Lady x --- 13 years ago -

When I got the shot they didnt ask my husbands blood type. I think I will ask on my next appt. :)

Toodles --- 13 years ago -

When I got the shot they didnt ask my husbands blood type.

They did not ask me either, but I know my husband is +, I think they just do it anyways as a better safe than sorry kind of thing, but they did test my son after he was born and he was also +

whatevergirl2 --- 13 years ago -

My last R shot was given in my arm. It didn't hurt at all there.

Chik --- 13 years ago -

My husband and I are both - and I still had to have the shot. I even asked because of course the baby had no chance of having a + blood type and they said it doesnt matter, I still had to have it.

3Js mommie --- 13 years ago -

I had the shot with all three of my pregnancies, with my 1st pregnancy(the shot after birth) I broke out in hives after it. The other times I was fine, but they do hurt. I got it in my hip. All three of my boys are + and so is hubby. I am negative.

Rayswife --- 13 years ago -

I got mine at 27 weeks and I didn't need it after because she was negative too. I told the doc that my husband is a negative blood type and she told me "no offense but I wasn't there when you got pregnant". Had to get it anyways! lol.
