I really hope someone can help me out with this. We moved out on the 21 of june. We dint get any BAH on the 1st of July which we knew it was going to happen. For this pay we can already see our pending deposit and it's not showing all of the BAH. I was thinking that becuase he dint get BAH on the 1st we were suppose to get all of it on the 15th? I'm I wrong? Or should i send my husband next week to go ask about this? We only got my husband pay, half of BAH and some of the prorate? We paid upfront what we owed housing which was only 100 for vinyl repair. SO what should wh be expecting to get paid on this pay period? I'm sorry but my husband has no idea on what he should get paid and i really don't Either. This is the 1st time we are living of base. Please help!! 

you will get half of BAH on the 1st and half on the 15th each month. 

I know that we should get half and half. But what should we be expecting for this pay since we didn't get No BAH on the 1st. 

You should be getting the pro-rated amount for June and 1/2 July's BAH. 

When some get paid bah they get from the 1st-the 15th of the month on the 15th payment. Then they will get the 15th- the 1st on the 1st payment. So in your situation you will get the pro-rated amount from 6/21-6/30 & 7/1-7/15 on your 15th paycheck 

So then it will be pay, pro-rated amount plus half of BAH. Right? Then why would housing tell me that i would be getting Full BAH , Pro rated amount plus pay this pay? I do fell like i'm missing half of that BAH. Cause we only have half of BAH for the rent on the 1st for Aug. If we didn't get paid BAH on the 1st then what happens to that half of BAH? Cause the one for the 1st and 15th of Aug and would be for the next rent for Sept. Or am I doing it wrong? I'm Just so lost on this BAH thing :( Sorry. 

So if you moved out of housing on 6/21 then you will get the pro-rated amount from 6/22-7/1 on 7/15 paycheck. The reason you don't get it on your 7/1 paycheck is because housing did not have enough time to process the move out before the marine corp processed the 7/1 paycheck (which happened on 6/20). So instead they roll that amount your owed to the 15th paycheck.

Sorry if that sounds confusing but the long story short is you will get the pro-rated amount for June as well as the first 1/2 of julys BAH on your 7/15 paycheck. Then you will get the second 1/2 of July BAH on the 8/1 paycheck. 

OK so What happens to that other half? Would we be getting the half missing(15th-31of july) on the 8/1 check with the other half (1-15th of Aug)the amount for that 8/1 check which would be the full amount. then again get the half for that month on the 8/15( 15th-31th of aug)?

What other half? Now I'm confused...lol if you lived in base housing till 6/21 then housing get your BAH for the time frame of 6/15-6/21. If you had moved out on 6/14 then you would get half of June.

If housing had stopped the allotment on 6/14 then you would have gotten your bah on 7/1.

If someone told you that you would get all of June they were wrong. 

Basically BAH is behind 2 weeks...you get the 1st-15th BAH on the 15th and the 15-31st the following month on the first. Your not missing BAH, you got the prorated amount from june and then you got july 1st-15th on the 15th check. The rest of july you'll get on august 1st then august 1st-15th you'll get on the august 15th check and so on... 

so here is what i figured out based on your move out date of 6/21(hope this helps answer your question)....

Well my husband gets 1929 a month per Bah. If housing took 1350.30 for the day we were in housing our prorate is 578.70. Which that adds up to 1929 for the month of June. Right? Then on the 1st we didn't get BAH becuase of paperwork or whatevery it is. then on 15th of this month july. we are only getting 964.50 because thats half of our BAH. We only got 964.50 for the month og July. Then on the 1st of Aug we get 964.50 then again on 15 we get 964.50 which then it adds up to 1929 for the month of Aug. Then do we only get 964.50 for the month of july? Thats what i'm pretty much asking... 

you should be getting $1543.20 on 7/15 and $964.50 there after. If you don't get $1543.20 on 7/15 then you will have to confirm with housing that they stopped the allotment, and if they say yes then asked them what day did they run the diary on. after that have your husband call his PAC ( he should know what that is) and find out that everything was processed correctly. worst case you should receive the pro-rated amount of $578.7 by 8/1 

OP, your husband will get paid BAH after the days he works. He doesn't get July's BAH until July 15 (for 1-15 July) and August 1 (for 16-31 July). So the BAH he receives on the first of the month is technically for the time worked the latter half of the previous month. 

OP here is the break down.

July 15th you should get BAH for June 22 through June 30th plus BAH for July 1st through July 15th.

August 1st you should get BAH for July 16th through July 31st.

And so on!

BAH just like pay is paid AFTER he does the work.

From you saying that you are only getting 964.50 on the 15th, it means that the prorated amount isn't with it. What you are getting is for the first half of July, and you will get the second half of July's on Aug 1st. 

^^^ Agree with VK, BAH is not paid in advance. You WILL have been paid all of your July BAH when you get paid on Aug 1.

Aug's BAH will be paid on Aug 15th and Aug 30 and so on. They aren't ripping you off, that's the way it works for everyone. 

What happened to what amount? The other half of July? It has been explained to you thoroughly how BAH is allocated. 

Everyone has explained it the exact same way, I'm not sure what is still confusing about it but if your still not understanding it have your husband go talk to someone about it and maybe they can explain it in a way that everyone here is missing... 

Also make sure housing really took "their" share. Before when we have moved out of housing, I got a letter in the mail saying we owed half month of BAH. At first I was confused as well since I had put the 30 day notice in and all that, but like the other have said you are always 2 weeks behind on bah! 

If you can read an LES- this information is on there, and you can confirm that it is accurate. I just looked at our LES from when we moved out of base housing, and it's all there. It doesn't actually say the words, "prorated amount" but since you know the amount roughly for that, it'll be on a seperate line.
