What was or has been your biggest pregnancy craving?

Mine so far has been Rootbeer. I've never liked soda so this is weird for me but I can't get enough of it.

champatlife --- 5 years ago -

I think sweet tea- I've only had 3, but I usually hate sweet tea, and it tastes fabulous right now.

GardenWitch --- 5 years ago -

Ice cream was always mine.

rainonme112 --- 5 years ago -

Milk... I'm lactose intolerant, but for some reason I could drink it with no problem when I was pregnant.

ooorah69P --- 5 years ago -

With my ex, our first was the worst. She couldn't get enough ice cream and green sour mango's. We lived in FL at the time and had a mango tree right outside our apt. I was forever picking them. She went from 100 to 165lbs by the time she delivered, she was only 4'11.

Poe --- 5 years ago -

Ouch, I hope I don't gain that much. So far I've gained 7lbs.

ooorah69P --- 5 years ago -

With our other two she put on about 25 lbs or so. But then we didn't have a mango tree outside for them. ;)

1st pregnancy - Burger King cheeseburgers. I craved them all the time, but I only had 2 or 3 the entire pregnancy

2nd - I craved salads and fruit

3rd - I don't remember any, I was too busy being exhausted the whole time I think

4th - carbs esp pasta

5th (current) - I've had tons of random cravings that keep changing. Everything from pickled beets to red velvet cake to cream of wheat.

I've never gained more than 25 lbs.

AnaBanana --- 5 years ago -

With my first, I had to have nutella on those hawaiian rolls with a glass of ovaltine. With my second, it was canned green beans... straight from the can.

Momma2Fur --- 5 years ago -

1st- Burger King fries (yuck!), ice, lemons

2nd- Souplantation, watermelon

Gained 45 with my 1st, 35 with my second. Worked hard to lose it each time.

rainonme112 --- 5 years ago -

I gained less than 15. I just ate healthy and continued working out as normal; just lighter weights and I traded running for an elliptical or bike and took up prenatal yoga.

DramaLlamasMomma --- 5 years ago -

One of mine was Rootbeer too! I hadn't had a soda in over a year until I got pregnant. I craved a rootbeer from Sonic so bad. My other craving was Fruity Pebbles. I think I ate it for every meal. Oh and watermelon! Thank goodness for having a baby in August. Watermelon was in season!

If you aren't heavy to start with that's really not a healthy thing to do. It can lead to lower birth weight babies and complications. I'm sure it ended up fine for you but they do recommend more weight gain for a reason. One of my pregnancies I was not gaining enough and we worked hard to try to put the total amount higher. I ended up with an 18-19lb total, but 20 is really the absolute minimum as babies born to a woman with lower than 20lbs weight gain tend to show some signs of malnourishment.

I'm sure you already know this, but just wanted to add it in case anyone reading was thinking of trying to keep a low weight gain like that.

Im up 7lbs at 23 weeks, baby is the size of 28 week old. I crave burgers, but not your typical mcds or bk, since I don't eat that stuff I have actually brought in a george forman grill to work.

I gained 50! But 2 weeks to the day after I had her I was down 35lbs. It was all water weight I guess. I was swollen up so bad!

Poe --- 5 years ago -

Watermelon is a big one of mine too, any real juicy fruit actually.

It's safer to gain a lower weight than it is to pack on 60lbs for a 7lb baby.
I'm 5'3" and started at 115. My dr recommended a 15-30lb weight gain. And I didn't "try" to not gain weight; I'm a small build to begin with. Being pregnant doesn't mean a person needs to go crazy "eating for baby." And I'm definitely not malnourished (neither was my 7 1/2lb daughter). I simply eat clean and stay active. I was all belly; the other 5lbs went to my boobies =D

CLLP --- 5 years ago -

mcdonalds hamburgers and pizza hut breadsticks

Calimommy --- 5 years ago -

I liked cucumbers, and would soak them in red vinegar and eat them and even dip them and lick vinegar off. Eww. I also gained 50 pounds with both boys. I am only 5'1 and weighed 105 when I got pregnant, it hurt bad.

Barbie --- 5 years ago -

I couldn't get enough chocolate milk with my daughter and green onions with my son. I would put them in everything I even mixed them into my apple pie once.

Jersey Shore Chickie --- 5 years ago -

I never knew how much they would grow, from a C to almost an F, but no change in back size. I can't wait until they are back to normal.

I was very similar 35 and 40lbs both pregnancies, and I didn't gain my weight until after 6 1/2 months- 7 months, then blew up! First week after birth I was down 20lbs then another 5-10 by a month out, but sadly the last didn't melt off magically, then with our lack of gyming since the move I added 5 more blegh, oh well. I still havn't gained anything this pregnancy, but I'm not holding my breath.

and big macs

haha, for 2 days I really really wanted a big mac hadn't had one since I was maybe 9 (and I don't remember liking it) They were delicious going down, but the craving ended as soon as it came up the second day. Just thinking about that "taste" makes my stomach spin.

Momzilla --- 5 years ago -
