I have been on hold for the central appt. for 45 mins!! So I hang up and call the dept. Im trying to make the appt. with and they f'ing direct me back to central appt. Im so pissed right now. Ive been put back on hold now for the last 5 mins!! They really need to figure out a new system this is horrible!! 

The naval hospital is closed today. Except the ER. We just came from there and nothing is open except the ER and pharmacy. 

Today is a FEDERAL holiday. 

Jesus, would it really kill them to put a 'we're closed for the holiday' message on the phone??? I swear to god I hate that place so much...

I was waiting for about 30 minutes this morning as well, 'till I read this thread. 

Just spent another 30 mins on hold!! Even tried the department again and no answer. I can't stand this hospital! Has anyone gotten through today or they closed again? 

It's likely they are backed up because everyone is calling because they were closed for so long.

There's a portal on their website for patients to make an appointment. 

everytime i tried to get on their website i was redirected to new -shutdown- site.
i finally got on and was hung up on!!!! omgosh i cant f'ing stand this place!!!! 

I called this morning and got through right away. 

So many got through; hmmmm must just be you! 

I got through as well and waited maybe 5 mins for someone to pick up.
I usually make my appts on this site and get a response pretty quick. 

this is why i love standard :) lol. its so worth it to pay the co pay!

I can't believe you're having so much trouble while others had a minimal wait today. 

I called the day after Christmas because my daughter was having a reaction to her 1 year shots (just a red mark and I wanted to ask if I should make an apt) and I was on hold for an hour and 40 min total. I don't think it would be such a bad idea to add a message telling people when they are closed.....

Or...people could just realize that if you, your husband, or your neighbor is on a 96, the normal clinics are PROBABLY not open.

A red mark is a normal reaction for vaccines. Its in the patient education that they should be handing out with all vaccines. Im HOPING you were given those papers and either over looked it or were being super cautious (both are understandable).
Do they still have the nurses advice hotline-thingy?
