My neighbor asked me to watch her kids and I am about to puke of all this grossness. You can't see the floors, counters, and all the food in the fridge is expired. There was mold in the jelly. Their backyard is like a jungle and there is a 5 ft high pile of stinky laundry. I hate to say it but I have just wrote the parents off as disgusting.. I'd post the pics I sent to my mom if it wasn't a violation of their privacy. 

If it's seriously that disgusting and they don't even have good food for the kids I would report it. 

YUCK! They should have their kids removed from such nastiness. 

Oh and the dinner they left for the kids expired 13 days ago. It was pre made hamburgers (not frozen) 

It's not even a financial thing because they both have good jobs.

Yes. My house was what I consider to be discusting when ash & logans mom came over last week. I had just started cleaning. I was so embarassed. I don't know how people live dirty. 

Yes! I keep a very clean organized house. Its not that hard...but its the worse when u goto there house for dinner...and u are afraid to eat cause of how unclean there house is I doubt the dish ware is much cleaner

I can't stand it because I was raised in one of those houses and I hated every second of it. I felt like I could never invite anyone over and I always so embarrassed. I was always sick on and off growing up and then when I moved out on my own I rarely ever got sick. So, yeah I really cant stand gross messy houses.

I hate gross houses lol. I'm ok with messy houses buy not dirty. There is a difference. Messy is what you get when your toddler tries toys about and you have a pile of laundry to do and dishes in the sink. Dirty is what you described lol. I was embarrassed when momzilla came by to help with a bed lol

Maybe it will open their eyes. Some people just get distracted and need a wakeup call.

I grew up in one of "those" houses as well, now my house may be messy thanks to the kids constantly doing something, but it's never horrible! 

Poor kids. I would take time stamped pictures (for proof later on) and call CPS. If you didn't want to call CPS what I would do is go home and tomorrow call the local PD and ask for a health and wellness check. Ask to remain anonymous, and they do and will go out to the home to check.

What have you done about this??? I mean if its the second time they spend the night at your house? just curious.. 

I've called my house messy before. But I think there is a difference between messy and just plain dirty.

Messy as in- toys all over living room, dirty dishes and beds unmade.

Dirty would be what OP described.

NO I wouldn't clean the house...I WOULD say something to them about the dirt they're living in! Especially with kids involved and the expired food!! 

Do you know her well? I mean, do you know her well enough to know if this is an everyday occurance or just a one week thing. Have you determined the reason that you are watching the children these past two days? (i.e. her mother dying, friend needing help?) Before drawing a big conclusion, I would find out if this is the norm.

From the description of the condition of their home, I wonder how many nights those kids eat expired food. 

If even the food is bad, I would call CPS. Those kids could become seriously sick. CPS reports are confidential unless you waive your confidentiality when you report it. 

Clutter is one thing but disgusting is another. I am neither, my home is kept very clean and spotless.
