I received a phone call from the manager at NCT today. So that u all know, recently they have only ben putting 1 paper in the machines bc they keep getting ripped off. Its not just aboard the base either. However.... after talking to him. He was denied by MCCS to sell the Sunday papers inside the stores.

He too is blaming Extreme Couponing. As of this Sunday, for those of you who would like to purchase a Sunday Paper, I will have 50 or so. Location will more than likely be by the WM exchange. Time will be posted later in the week. Tentative timewill be 0800ish until they are gone. If there are any questions please feel free t inbox me.

Just fyi - you can always go and purchase your inserts at their office as well in case you miss a Sunday :)

It seems that way @BM. Sad thing is that they are only putting 1 in the machines. We coupon only when we find a coupon for something we use. I personally love the ads and comics.

Ohhhhhh. I drove all over base and Oceanside looking for papers. I needed them for packing paper for the move. 

I was at the LA Times machine Sunday wenthey were stocking it and the guy said they are only putting 5 in theirs as well. SUCKS!!! I can NEVER find a paper Sunday mornings!

i went to cvs and rite aid to get my papers sunday and they're keeping them behind the counter now because peeps were stealing coupons out of the papers!

eta: We don't live on or near base though, and I rarely use coupons. Most of the time they're for things we don't eat or use.

I'm sure it will and people will realize what they see on that show is just that extreme. I don't understand what they think they can do with all of those coupons. Most stores in our area have limits on what you can buy, coupons have limits, prices are different, and not all stores have the same deals. No matter what stealing is wrong, but what their doing is also pointless. 

The show WILL be returning for another season. According to a statement released like a week ago, the controversy brings in the ratings :P 

NCT called to inform me that they are still working logistics for the Sundays paper. The order was not put in for this weeks paper aboard the base. I will not be able to provide this service to you all this week.

Management stated that we will just have to go off base and find the paper.

If people want the inserts they can buy them online from sundaycouponinserts.com. I don't get why they steal them when it only cost $7.00 for 12 inserts and if they are taking it to extreme they make their money back in no time so why not just pay for them?

Couponing is a lot bigger now. I have been using coupons for years but I stepped it up when we moved here because we lost a lot of money moving here. 

Soon enough the companies are going to cease coupon manufacturing when they realize how much money they are actually losing.

I see where u all are coming from. Me personally, I wasn't trying to get the papers for the coupons. I was doing it so that CP residents don't have to leave base bc of EC.

New problem is this... the only way that they will supply the Sunday paper is if a patron pays for them and resells them. If they aren't going to stock more than one Sunday paper, then why are their machines still aboard the base? I say either stock them or remove them.

I doubt you'd have a hard time reselling them, but I am not sure you'd be allowed to stand on base selling them. 

I just don't get the people who coupon and stock up on dumb sh*t they don't really need. I buy in bulk but only crap I use, some of the stuff is ridiculous.

i went to misssion viejo last sunday to see my mom and i didnt get up early to get a paper, so i was like screw it. well we went to SB and i just happened to see if they had more and they had a crap load. i bought one paper and mine had 2 of each insert in it. then when i went to the store there was some there too, and it was maybe 1pm. i was surprised because san clemente is ALWAYS out. i think its just a big thing on base right now and once people stop posting about coupons or news papers then people will start forgetting. just like in the News, 911 was a hot topic, once they stopped broadcasting about it people slowly started putting it in the back of their mind.
