There's a banner on the corner of Wire Mtn Rd and San Jacinto Rd that spells out "Sargent". How embarassing for her husband. I have the picture but am on my phone and can't upload unless someone wants to do it for me!

Camerons Creations --- 13 years ago -

That sucks. Whenever i'm unsure of my spelling I google it. lol

accountnickname --- 13 years ago -

I know someone who lives on base with that last name. Could it be that?

ChefsDoItBetter3 --- 13 years ago -

No they had a name under the word "Sargent" and that was not it trust me. And I agree when I'm in doubt I google.

Wiscogirl --- 13 years ago -

I saw a "garage sell" sign the other day too lol

Champ --- 13 years ago -

Thus why I use the abbreviation of SGT.

I see it commonly mispelled, but I think it's in part due to the *sarge* nickname (which I don't think that is used in the MC, but in other "communities"

gasp --- 13 years ago -

I saw a sign at a clothing store that read, "under wears $1.99"

Blondie714 --- 13 years ago -

Underwears is my pet peeve in life!!!!!!!!

Do you have multiple pairs on or.....

namenotalreadytaken --- 13 years ago -

Seeing as there is a good chance she may be a part of this site I don't think it's necessary to humilate someone like that, especially with location. I'm sure her husband will still be happy she made him a sign.

Blondie714 --- 13 years ago -

My husband would make fun of me every day all day if I spelled sergeant wrong on his homecoming sign.

What is humiliating is how she can't even spell her husbands rank.

Hope her husband doesn't become an officer and some day become a Kernel!!!! ;)

Jmblankets --- 13 years ago -

I can not spell. :(. I try but I end up sounding words out any usually they are wrong. I am not good at writing sentences as well. But I do know how to spell my husband rank lol

Shufflin --- 13 years ago -

She's so excited her husband is coming home she misspells a word on her banner.

THE HORROR!!! Lets lynch her!!!!

*Rolls eyes*

Champ --- 13 years ago -

I don't think it's a big deal, and I guess my humor is stale because I don't see the humor in making fun of it. Now what does make me laugh is a McDonald's billboard that says, "show your dollar a good time." Conveniently located within eye sight of a strip club.

Just MerBear --- 13 years ago -

Yes, how embarrassing, he's probably going to want to divorce her when he gets off the bus and sees that. And give her a good punch to the face...maybe if she knew proper spelling of ranks he wouldn't have to hit her. Silly wife.

/sarcasm

YouReallyThinkSo --- 13 years ago -

The last thing a husband is going to be worrying about when he gets off that bus is the spelling on the sign. He could careless. He is more worried about how fast he can get her alone and get her pants off, lol. Homecomings are so special who cares if its misspelled. I hope they have a great homecoming. My spelling sucks to, specially when I use explorer cause it doesnt let me know when something is misspelled like firefox.

Calimommy --- 13 years ago -

I would feel really bad if she could not spell, really. Like something was wrong with her or maybe a daughter did it and she didn't have time to start over. My mom graduated just High School and bless her heart she really can't spell.

Dtigerlily4ever --- 13 years ago -

Seriously? Who freaking cares??

Robin Swallows --- 13 years ago -

Sounds like you guys are just jealous that she is going to be getting her sex on soon!

Skittles --- 13 years ago -

It could also be an inside joke. It must be really sad to be so miserable in your own life that you have to tear others down to make you feel good about yours.

Camerons Creations --- 13 years ago -

I don't think she was making fun or trying to humiliate her. I think it was one of those things where you're driving by, see a welcome home banner, and say to yourself "hmm that's kind of funny!" I know I have definitely thought that before.

BellaLaVie --- 13 years ago -

He could careless.

Couldn't care less* ;)

BellaLaVie --- 13 years ago -

I am :(

LuvMyHandsomeMan --- 13 years ago -

I also don't think she was trying to humiliate her, I think its funny, I would have pointed it out if I'd been the one to see it also. Having trouble spelling isn't an excuse to not know how to spell your husbands rank anyway, there's appreviations for a reason. I don't think her husband will divorce her over it, but I know for sure my husband would never let me live it down, he would probably make fun of me forever for it. When you live on a marine corps base, spelling someones rank should be common sense, especially since its written everywhere already.

HereAgain --- 13 years ago -

Capitalizing 'Marine Corps' should also be common sense.

BellaLaVie --- 13 years ago -

appreviations

abbreviations? ;)

My thoughts exactly, just didn't want to be the one to say it.

3rdxsacharm --- 13 years ago -

Yeah I can't see where the big deal is. Out of all the things in life we criticize the spelling of a person. Happy she is getting a husband that is returning period.

...since it's written everywhere. Lol

Says the person who doesn't capitalize Marine Corps, when it is written everywhere the right way too.

MyLuckyStars88 --- 13 years ago -

Why make fun of her? I dont understand. Here is what my husband has to say about this...

The last thing i will even care about or even look for is spelling in my welcome home banner. All I wanna do is go home, eat a nice warm meal and cuddle up with my wife and kids who I have not seen in months. The spelling is nothing to me. People make mistakes, its not our wives job to know how to spell certain things. Of course it will br brought up a week or so later with laughs but it wouldnt make me want to divorce her or anything in that area, lol you wives make some crazy little ideas in your heads and it makes me laugh. Its really not a big deal.
