Haven't put one up in the past 3 years but when my family does it its usually within a week or 2 of Christmas and it left up until a few days after the New Year.
The day after Thanksgiving...but my husband hasn't been able to put tree up for the past 3 years and asked if we could it before that. I love that he said that cause I love Christmas and wanna start decorating the day after Halloween.
Usually around Thanksgiving, but I don't even think we're getting one this year. We'll see. I just don't feel like dealing with the hassle of a real tree and the needles everywhere, but fake ones are so expensive. Plus we are going home for 2 weeks probably around Dec. 15 or so..it would be kind of pointless.
Since we are normally visiting family for Thanksgiving, we have ours up by the Wed/Thurs after thanksgiving!! Its takes me about 2-3 days to have the inside of the house decorated so I try to have the inside completed by Friday so that I can help the hubby spend Saturday doing the outside xmas lights and decorations. I like to have *everything* done by the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
Mine is already up because I'm trying to get my boys used to it before I put the ornaments on it. We are also taking pics it front of it for cards too.
I normally do it when the holiday season finally gets to me which is around thanksgiving but sometimes soon er, sometimes later. I only have a small one that sits on a table though and I have to be careful where I put it because my two bad little kitties like to knock it over.
Were doing our Family pics in front of them on Friday, and tomorrow and Thursday our girl has cheer practice, and Wed the kids have hiphop, and we have small group at church so TONIGHT IT IS!!!!
Yippee! =)
(Minus the fact that is all cost $160 last night - eeeek! and we havent even bought our outside decor or "fun" ornaments yet. Trees are expensive!)
Putting our Cali tree up tonight. I fly back to NC Wednesday and won't be back till January since my husband will be flying east for all the holidays. So if I want him to have a tree here it has to go up before I leave.
I have my twins' birthday to contend with right around Thanksgiving every year, so I always wait until Dec. 1st to start the Christmas festivities. One holiday at a time...one at a time.
has anyone successfully used superyards around a tree? Any words of advice? It's been so long since we've had a little one to worry about around the tree.
