My husband just got a speeding ticket worth $714! I ALWAYS tell him to slow down and its like it goes in one ear and out the other! I am so tired of throwing away money on stupid crap like that!

Even if he was over 25 miles over the limit that fine seems HUGE.

The county adds a bunch of fees. My husband was going 16 over and his ticket was $488 

My husbands ticket was just under 500 but when he went to pay it they lowered it to just under 400 . 

Fines double in school and construction zones. 

He wasnt in a school zone, he was on the 76 going towards camp pendleton .

I am sure they got him on going too fast for the coniditions. 75 on the 76 is going way too fast. 

CA loves to tack on fees...:( I had a couple of them here in ca back in the day...and they were under 15mph...but ended up payin over 500.00 when all the fees where done! sorry! ::(

i agree and he deserves that fine... he would feel really stupid getting into an accident and hurting someone else... speed limits are put into place for a reason. 

Is the ticket filled out with your speed, the posted speed, how much you were going over, etc. If you were in a construction zone there should be a box checked.

We've only been here for a year and I've seen pretty nasty accidents on the 76.

My husbands ticket was filled out incorrectly so he's going to court next month and it should be dismissed. The officer put the wrong license plate number and the wrong state.

Ouch. Did he have his license, reg & insurance on him? I got a speeding ticket once, and didn't have my insurance card on me... I got an $1100 ticket! I brought it when I went to court and they dropped it but I was terrified lol. (This was many years ago before they could look it up via computer haha but I always make sure its in my glovebox now!) Op, they'll probably reduce it when you go to court.

Yeah, the 76 has all that construction going on right now so that doesn't surprise me. People drive like idiots on that road.

Just go in dressed all nice and be polite ;) My husband has had a few tickets reduced.
