we might move to pendleton. we currently rent out a condo that already has a washer and dryer. i know at most base housing in pendleton only has hookups. are there alternatives to buying new or used? do they offer any rentals? we have do a ton of laundry so the laundromat is not an option...

There is a rental place. I can't remember if its through the lending locker or someone else but I've seen the truck before.

Most people use EZrental, I think.

I use EZ rental and pay $35 a month for both washer and dryer. I think you get the 3rd month free when you rent with them, not sure if it has changed or not.

Some units have a furniture locker. From what I understand it's free or low cost as it's all donated items. Or try the thrift stores.

Thank you for the information. we are looking up the ez one. do they also offer larger capacity washer and dryers? the ones i saw on their website are only 3.?. What's a furniture locker? How does it work? We are hoping to live in san onofre area.

Lending locker here doesn't have washer or dryer apparently. Their website is here
Lending Locker and the PDF of what is available to use is located here PDF it seems the one here is specifically to loan things until you household goods arrive anyways so just renting while youre stationed here wouldn't work.

That being said- pendletonyardsales always has them for sale relatively cheap as people are always moving in and out and tend to price them cheaper the closer they are to moving.

The unit ones are different than the bases lending locker, it's not a loan, if you need it, it's yours. It would depend on the unit you are going to and if they maintain one. The Fro for the unit should know.

We donated a bunch of stuff to Dh's unit for their furniture locker including my electric dryer which is fine on base, but not so fine in my new house with gas dryer connections :-/

I'd suggest looking for a used set. There are always people moving out so if you take a look at the resale pages there are always a set being sold at rock bottom prices.

thank you for all the information. It is great to know we have so many options.

My husband and I bought a nice used set when we first got married 6 yrs ago, best $250 I ever spent! I highly suggest you do some research and try to find a nice used set, it will last you years and will be much cheaper than renting!
