So.. I heard that Serra Mesa residents got a notice on there doors saying they were only allowed one dog, and that if you are a violator you need to only have one dog immediately or animal control will be contacted. I'm just curious what animal control would really do if these people didn't give away there animal. I understand it's the rules but honestly it's just not right, and soooooo many people have two dogs. What's stupid is everywhere else is two dogs, and if you move into serra mesa they give you a paper packet and in there is says base law is two dogs. so I just don't get it. My friend is apparently about to get her dogs taken away.
They will take the dog away. My friend had it happened. I would either consider moving or find a friend that could after the dog for awhile. She can also get fines and really extreme chases can get kicked out of housing (I hadn't known everyone who has gotten kicked off but I read if you break 3 rules your done). Good luck It's a stupid rule but it is a rule. Maybe it's because the apts are so small.
Did your friends move in knowing there was a one dog limit, or did the "paper packet" they receive lead them to believe they could have more than one dog? If they knew they were breaking the rules, then I don't feel sorry for them, I feel sorry for the dog(s) they may lose. Stupid or not, rules are rules, and unfortunately you can't just choose to break the "stupid" ones.
i dont think its a stupid rule. i live in de luz and you can have 1 dog that is up to 50 lbs or 2 dogs that equal 50 lbs and alot of people dnt think the rules apply to them just like alot of people think they dont have 2 clean up after there dogs. as for serra mesa, at least you can even have one dog when my husband and i lived there we couldnt have a dog at all.
It's not the fact of following the rules, it's that your just expected to give your animal away like they don't mean anything to you. To some people animals are like there children.
There are always addendums in leases for inspections etc. I am sure there is a route Lincoln has established for pet inspection to happen and then they'll authorize animal control.
ya but it would be different if they told you that you could only have one child and had to get rid of the extras. if the pet means so much why not move somewhere you can have it rather than chance getting kicked out

It's absolutely the fact of following the rules. If their dogs are like "THEIR children" they shouldn't have put themselves in a position to possibly be in this predicament.
If they are like family to them shouldn't they have picked proper housing? The pet policy for each housing is clearly stated in the pet addendum for each neighborhood.
Military housing is a privllage not a right if you don't follow the rules and have been warned more then once you don't get that privllage anymore. It's that simple. There are other apts off base that take two dogs and rent is pretty cheap they would just have to look.
A lot of places you have to be higher than e-3. & you pay a lot out of pocket to move while waiting for your BAH to return to your from lincoln military
