Do we have a choice to travel with them OR would TMO move them obviously they do for HI but if we don't get HI, does TMO or can we travel with them. 

You're responsible for moving your own pets. You put them in your car and off you go. 

TMO doesn't move your pet to Hawaii...or anywhere else. 

TMO doesn't pay for your pets at all, even overseas duty stations, if you want your pets where you are you pay for it. 

Your pets are your responsibility no matter where you are going. I drove all 5 of mine (plus my kids) cross-country for our last move. :) 

TMO paid for my friends pets to fly out to Hawaii. This was earlier this year. 

I heard you pay for your pets no matter where you move. Maybe she just got lucky. 

Two years ago when we had orders to Iwakuni, TMO asked us questions about our two dogs, and if I remember correctly, they were going to fly them.

I can't be certain because I am old and my memory sucks, but I am pretty sure they were flying them for us. 

We PCS'ed to Hawaii 2 months ago. TMO did NOT pay for our pets. We paid more to fly them in cargo from LA to HI then our plane ticket cost. We were told, in no uncertain terms, through the moving class and others, that pets were solely our responsibility (as it should be...) 

That's crazy. Lejeune paid for their animals. I was with her when she got the paperwork and stuff. She was kinda spazzing about the move and since I had already been there. 

We just came from there as well. We told them we had pets, so they booked us on a flight, had us go home to make sure we could get our pets on the same flight, and then we called them back to confirm. But it was all on us. We paid a couple thousand to get them here (between the preparation, the airlines, and the overall cost of getting them to Hawaii and out of the airport). The pets did not exist to TMO. The only thing mentioned was to keep them out of the way of the movers and how much work it was to get them here, do get started early. I did and had no problems. But it took a lot of time and money. 

We just arrived on Oahu on Saturday. When we made the flight arrangements to come here, I was told they would reserve space for our dog's kennel on our paid itinerary. We needed to keep her temporarily on the mainland though, with my parents, to finish her quarantine.
