....there are lots of men who "abort" their rights. My father did and 2 of my cousins fathers did. Regardless of if he felt she should or not what he did was wrong! There was several other routes he could of taken to get out of being a father this should not of been one of them!

I can't agree with this. The man does not have to carry the child, the woman does. Her body, her choice. If he wants no ties to the child & no responsibilities, then he can sign over his parental rights and be done. The woman would never be able to come after him for child support, he'd be free.

Worst opinion I've read in a while. :/ They do have a legal right to end their responsibility. It's called "voluntary termination of parental rights". The misuse of abortion is ridiculous as it stands, let's not double the number and have 2M+ babies getting killed every year.

Ever heard of a condom??? Yes there are women who do nothing to prevent pregnancies, heck they even stop taking BC on purpose. But every man has the choice to keep it in his pants or use a condom. I do not condone the whole termination of parental rights, I think it should stop before that. Its pathetic the way a person's actions affect a young child who has absolutely no choice in being born. 

If he didn't want babies he should've been extra careful and not had sex or used protection. If the condom broke... well it broke. Its part of the risk of having sex.

It doesn't matter who's at fault. She was keeping the baby and he BEAT her get rid of the baby, that is just barbaric. 

Total ignorance hahahahaahahaha. If that existed everyone would use that to get out of paying child support.

It does actually. My ex was given the option to do so rather than paying child support (he never has and never will) but since he just wanted to be an a** about it I had to hire an attorney to terminate his parental rights. Court is next month. 

It's just a sad state that people don't see abortion for what it is. Death. Plain and simple. Let's solve a persons lack of personal responsibility by killing. Yeah, that solves everything, right? That's the problem with the world today. No personal responsibility. Guns kill people too, right? Not people. And God creates wars, too? Not people abusing His word? (Let's not turn this religious, it's simply an example of lack of personal responsibility.) I would say I'm the least ignorant of all, because I own up to every mistake I've made. There are no easy ways out of what I do, rather different roads taken to fix the mistakes I've made, on my own. I wish the rest of the world got that too.

(Before we go down that road, I'm not pro-life completely and this has nothing to do with that defense. Only the over abuse of the freedom to abortion as it stands.) 

Just because a man gives up rights doesn't mean he doesn't have to be financially responsible. If a man doesn't want a child then he should practice "safe sex" . That's as far as his choice goes. 

Some people are just sick. Including some of the comments in here!! Try being responsible for your actions! From day one. I have sons and I will tell them the same thing. You knock up a girl, your responsible. Period! You have a choice! Wear condom! Know the risks of having sex and that there is a chance of condom failure. (a very small chance, birth control has them as well so that argument is asinne.) If your not prepared for those risks then don't have sex with the women. Forcing a women to have an abortion isn't a choice. To me thats as wrong as forcing a women to have sex. 

Don't have sex if you're not ready to have a child. If you're irresponsible and that's what ends up happening, tough. It's life. Men can either sign off on any parental rights (which makes them total scum) or they can pay child support. OR here's a concept they can be a part of their child's life. If a woman doesn't want anything to do with the child, give it to someone who does. There is no excuse for murdering an innocent life. NO excuse. Rape, incest, teen pregnancy, not a valid excuse. Adoption is wonderful because a baby never has to know his/her background or how they were conceived. They can be raised by people who genuinely want a child. So if you're not ready to have a baby, don't have sex. THAT'S LIFE! 

Sheesh what a big, black eye for the USMC. The whole thing is just sad and awful. :( That poor baby is going to have to hear of the horror story of how his father tried to kill him. 

Same goes for the mother who should be responsible for her own child and leaving the taxpayers out of it when it comes to welfare and free healthcare.

I am confused to why you say this when she was having the baby and being responsible. She had unprotected sex and is doing the responsible thing and keeping the baby. The father of the child tried to murder the baby (who was clearly far enough along to survive.) So you're saying you support women/child beaters?
