My husband got out of the marine corps on July 13th 2012 and he has yet to see his last pay check. He also sold back 60 days of leave if that makes any difference. He can't get a hold of anybody to give him any information on when he might see his last pay check.

So my question is if your husband had separated about how Long did it take to see the last pay check?

I ask a friend that just got out a few months ago and he said that it took a month. So count a month after he got out. They have to make sure he doesn't owe anything no where!! Hope that helps but he doesn't know if it's the same for everyone :)

I got out in July and I sold back 45 days and got my last pay check in September. It's been a few years but when I got out they said they would pay me 30-45 days after getting out.

There was a piece of paper he signed that said he would keep his bank accounts open for at least 45 days after, so that he could receive all pay that is owed to him. So according to that paper it could take up to 45 days.

How much do they pay for each vacation day?

norijackson --- 12 years ago -

He can contact his previous units S1 and they can track where he laymen is.

"vacation days" are paid as 1/30th of their base pay. You do not receive bah or bas when selling back leave.

Just a notice for those selling back leave this year (2012); DFAS posted:

Service Members- Use your leave while you can! If you have more than 75 days of leave on Oct 1st, you'll lose it, unless you're authorized Special Leave Accrual (SLA).

Also, OP, DFAS also responded to someone's comment regarding this same issue of last paycheck:

The final payment is issued approximately 20 days after your Date Of Separation (DOS). To obtain information concerning the calculation, please contact the finance office at your last duty station.
