When moved to stuart mesa it was just my husband and myself and did not qualify for the checks. We now have a baby ( I'm going to ask tomorrow). If we qualify, should we have been getting a check while I was pregnant?

ChikyPoo --- 12 years ago -

Yeah when you were 12 weeks pregnant you would have been able to start receiving it. but you wont get back pay for all that time either.

Shufflin --- 12 years ago -

You needed to show the office proof of pregnancy.

MrsFree --- 12 years ago -

well that sucks

YouReallyThinkSo --- 12 years ago -

You could of gotten a check if you brought them proof of your pregnancy.

I feel better. I checked today and since we have a three bedroom we could only get it if we had two children.

"Now that Sera Mesa and Stuart Mesa homes are completely revamped, there are a total of 700 newly-remodeled homes available for families. Existing residents in a three-bedroom home will receive a $350 concession, and two-bedroom homes will receive a $400 concession.

Concession checks will be issued approximately three weeks after rent payment is received by Lincoln Military Housing. The first concession checks will be issued in October."

I don't think children have anything to do with it, but this is a 2 year old article - could there be more than one definition of concession checks?

If that's the case, having children should never over qualify you for more space. Everything should be based on rank, not how many children you have. My goodness, the people around me have NO LESS than 4 kids each (at 3 different units). We don't have any kids and qualify for the 3 bedroom unit we live in now. Not to qualify for it, just because we don't have kids, would be infuriating.

So they should stick someone with two/three kids in a two bedroom?

Can of worms. An E6 with no kids qualifies for a 3 bedroom even if childless, but lower than that if you don't have kids then why do you "need" the space?

What it has do with is how many rooms you rate. When they moved into stuart mesa they rated a 2 bedroom because of rank, they had no children. Stuart Mesa also gives you the option to not get the concession and get a extra bedroom. So even tho he rated a 2 bedroom he could get a 3 bedroom. Even though they had a baby they still only rate a 2 bedroom so they would not qualify for the concession unless they do like hokey said and have another one. Which is crazy thought, lol. Let me have another kid so I can get $350. Hahaha
