I have 10 so far. Def getting more. Its a personal choice for everyone. If you aren't sure don't do it. I mean you can always get it covered or removed but you want to be sure. Plus you can always get it somewhere on your body that no one will see it or you are able to show or cover.

I have 6 as of right now, I know that I have ideas for at least 3 more, just still in the process of designs for them.

It is a personal choice, 4 of the 6 have personal meanings behind them, as do the 3 that I have in mind. Before I got any of mine I searched and searched for what I wanted if I found something I liked I would mark it, and go back and look at it again a few weeks later, if I still liked it I would wait a few months and then look at it again. If I still liked it I would get it done. 2 of them I designed myself and still did the above.

I have 3. All are located in places that can easily be covered by clothing. The first one I got when I was 18, but had been wanting it since the 6th grade. After waiting so long to get it, I had no doubts in my mind as to wanting it. I would have gotten it sooner, but I was dating a guy who forbid me from getting a tattoo at the time. After that relationship ended, I went straight to the tattoo parlor and set up my appointment to get a tattoo. It's a constant reminder to never let someone control me like that again. I am who I am, and I wont be who I'm not!
After getting the first one, I knew I wanted another, but didn't know of what. My grandfather passed away when I was 22, and I realized I wouldn't have my grandmother around for much longer. She is an artist, so I asked her to design a tattoo for me. She drew a teddy bear that she puts in all of her greeting cards. The tattoo design was also the first thing she drew after her hand surgery. She loves the fact that a piece of her artwork is on my body, and everyone in the family thinks of her when they see it. And now I will always have a piece of her with me.
My third one I designed myself. I had completed the drawing, and had to wait till I had the money to afford to have it done. I would look at it every couple of months to be sure it's what I wanted. It took a year before I had the extra money to get it, I also had it done as a graduation gift to myself after getting my BS in Education and teaching certification, as well as a job for the following school year. So because of the timing, it reminds me of my accomplishments.
My recommendation is you should be sure the design has meaning. Don't get something because it looks cool, in a few years it might not be so cool anymore. If it has special meaning, that meaning will always last forever.

I wouldn't have been ready to chose something to be on my body for the rest of my life in my early adult years. Later on I was pregnant and/or breastfeeding much of the time. I would never get a tattoo while in either circumstance nor would I become pregnant within a year or so of getting one as a precaution. I plan to get my first tattoo in the fall, I am in my 30s. I have two tattoos planned and both are designed by me and have a lot of very special meaning.

I have 3.. 2 of them have a very big personal meaning to me. 1 of them i completely regret. It was a big mistake. you just have to make sure you really know what you want. I plan on getting more but it has to have meaning to me. Not just something picked off a board or something you think is a good idea now because you are into it. But like everyone is saying, it is your body and no one should have control over it but you.

I have 5, all but one covered by clothes. My first tattoo is older then most of you are! I have had it for 35 years. I can't say I regret getting them, but if I could do it all over I probably wouldn't.
Sometimes even well done tattoos don't age well!

I have 8. one on each shoulder, one on inside of each arm, one on left forearm, one on my chest, one on each leg.

I'm going with my youngest son (18) to get his first tattoo as one of my H.S. graduation gifts to him. I'll be getting another then also, still debating what and where. All mine have some sort of personal meaning.

My oldest son (20) has 5 and is getting a 6th.

My daughter (23) thinks we're all nuts, as does my ex. She thinks i've corrupted her sons...LOL

Mom25 --- 13 years ago -

Got one at 25 and by 33 no longer wanted it. It was a very good one and I have spent a fortune trying to get rid of it. I need one or two more treatments.
I still like them on others, just not for me anymore!

Camerons Creations --- 13 years ago -

I have over 20 hours of tattoo work done :) Don't regret any of it

Pulga --- 13 years ago -

While I find it to be super awesome on others I just feel it's not meant for me. I've had piercings done, but as far as tattoos go I just don't see the point. I already have enough scars on my body I just feel too nerdy and uncool to have one, as if I couldn't pull it off.

Calimommy --- 13 years ago -

I have 3, no one can see them but my husband, lol. I do not like them to show. It's not for me. I do see people with tattoos all over and it fits them. I don't care either way, if someone has many or none.
