Does anyone know anything about 2 dogs being poisoned in South Mesa? 

That the story that aired on the news yesterday? I only caught the tail end of the story i know it happened on base, and i believe antifreeze was the cause?

Intentionally! 

From what I seen on the news the owners found food scraps in there yard that they didnt put out. The owner said she believes this is how the dogs where poisoned, someone threw food laced with antifreeze over the fence. 

It's heartbreaking! How could someone do this to a family! 

OMG!!! Which South Mesa?? This is horrible! I have to dogs, that aren't usually outside without me, but now I know if there is something in my yard that shouldn't be, i'll get rid of it right away!! Wow, people are unbelievable!! 

Maybe a neighbor because they were irritated about hearing the dogs bark? That would be my only guess. Pretty horrible. 

When I lived in Santa margarita I found meat straps in my back yard the mornig after my puppy had been taken to the er for throwing up all night. It sadly happens a lot and not just on base. My childhood dog and cat were poisoned with rat poison by my sisters ex-boyfriend. 

I wish there was something we could do for the family. The boy in the picture on the news was so upset!

My cat was poisoned by anti-freeze when I was a kid and died.

:( oh how sad.. I wonder how people could live with themselves, having done something like this to animals and to families. 

which news was this on?.. and do you think for the people that haven't seen the news or read it here, housing will put something out about it?.. I'm thinking of going to my surrounding neighbors and warning them. 

It was on Ch 6 last night. I haven't heard anything from our housing office about it. They should be warning people since there are a lot of dogs in that area!! 

Which south Mesa was it? East or west? 

I heard it was somewhere on Calico 

This explains why Animal control came to my door asking if I saw anything suspicious the last week or so, anyone hanging around out back :( They asked that people be on the look out for people acting suspicious, lingering, or trying to interact with dogs in people's back yards. Poor family. 

Is anyone doing anything to help the family with the expenses? 

I was wondering why Animal Control was going door to door on Calico, they didn't really explain what occurred. When I asked if someone was trying to steal someone's dog she just answered something like that. Her answer isn't even near to what I just read on here.
My heart goes out to the family that lost their dogs. I hope they catch the person(s) who poisoned their dogs. 

Wow, that's just horrible. 

Hopefully someone knows something and has enough integrity to come forward about it
