We are looking to go to seaworld this weekend. We are newer to the area and have never been. Is it true we get in free if my husband is active duty? Also, any advice or tips for going? We have a 4 year old and an 18 month old. Thanks.

Calimommy --- 13 years ago -

Sunblock, even if there is no sun we get burned out there. If its sunny a hat for the little one, sometimes the shows are right in the sun. You get in free once a year for just your dependents. I also like to go right when it opens, especially on the weekends. If they have all day eating pass I like that if you plan on staying until closing.

DaniP --- 13 years ago -

Do we just show id there to 'buy' tickets and get in free? Also, do you buy the eating pass there or online somewhere. Thanks for the info.

Registration

We always filled out the registration form and took it to the gate. You all need your ID's.

Giggle Butt --- 13 years ago -

I've never done the form. You can go to ANY gate. You and hubby need MIL ID and then they put it into the computer. Every year a family of 4 gets in free.

Also- they have a food thing you can buy. For like $30? You get all you can eat food through out the park and $12.99 for a child. They get to keep the plates or boxes and you can get a drink, entree, and desert, oh I think side.... All day.

I've never used this deal, but I've heard that the Zoo is free for AD and their dependents.

No, it's not. Only the member is free.

Complimentary 1-Day Pass at the Zoo and Africa Tram Safari at Safari Park for U.S. active duty military, cadets of their respective academies, and reserves (with active orders) if the individual shows valid, active military identification card at our gates. This program includes U.S. cadets that do not have "Active" on their IDs. Members of any foreign military services are excluded.

Zoo

We went to the zoo. Active with id gets in free and dependents are 20% off ticket price. Awesome info. Thanks all.

Fuego --- 13 years ago -

Oh, well that is still better than paying full price.

Yes, it was. It's a great park. Just wanted everyone to know about the discount incase they wanted to go and thought everyone would get in free like seaworld.

for those who have gone for 1 day to sea world? how would you go dressed? like full bathing suits under clothes? is there lockers? or what kind of attire would you say?

RealityBites --- 13 years ago -

You don't need a bathingsuit or anything unless you want one. If you sit in the "splash zones" you will get wet! (But its fun, especially if you have kids.) The water ride they have you get pretty wet on as well. If you go on a nice warm day you dry off pretty quick. But they sell plastic poncho things there if you are worried about being wet all day. I do believe there are lockers, but I've never used one. If you go on a nice day, shorts are fine but bring a sweater as the nights to get cool with a breeze.

where do you purchase this at?

Last time I went they had carts set up just inside the entrance where you could purchase it. They used to be sold online but I don't think they are any more.

Anyone ever go with 15 mth olds? Any tips? Do they let you bring in snacks/baby foods for them? Should you bring your stroller?

Corrina --- 13 years ago -

Thanks much Thread Killer:-)

Thread Killer --- 13 years ago -

IMO, I would bring the stroller. Even toddlers dislike walking around that much and Seaworld has been an all day event every time I have gone. Kids get crabby and a if your one year old likes animals then he/she will enjoy it.
