So I called lincoln military housing to find out what we are suppose to do with our moving boxes and christmas boxes but the said that they do not do bulk pickup any more for cardboard but you also cannot leave them outside on the street for pick up. Annoyment number one then I called waste management they said I have to schedule a appt with housing to have a bulk pick up but wait i thought they don't do that anymore appearently someone needs to fix their system! 

If you put an ad on bookoo im sure someone will come pick them up asap! Everyone always needs boxes, all shapes and sizes! :) 

I put a ton of crap at the curb one day and waste management took a big carboard box of junk. Then housing came by and picked up the other stuff (a broken desk and chair). I would just stick it out there! 

Thanks I might try that we just look like we are starting a recycling center in our garage its kinda embarassing when we actually have to open our garage, lol! 

This past week, we received an e-mail from housing that anything that didn't fit in the bins would not be picked up. My neighbors didnt get the email im assuming because they put out a couch, tv, tons of bags of trash, old toys, and boxes. Needless to say trash came and didnt pick up anything that wasnt in the bin. I called housing because it looked so trashy they came and picked it all up 

Ya we got the same email and we didn't want to be the people to stick the crap out there to not be picked up then have to drag it back into the garage. So I think I'm just going to post something on PYS and see if anyone wants them for free they are just driving me crazy along with housing/wastemanagment people!

What housing are you in? They have a extra dumpster you can use, you can use the one at the office or I know Stuart mesa has a dump area with dumpsters and recycle bins.

A message from Waste Management

Waste Management asked we remind you to place all trash in your 96 gallon containers and if items are placed curbside, they will not pick up these items. Cardboard boxes and other recyclable material need to be placed in your green recyclable container. Live Christmas trees can be left curbside, but free of holiday decorations and no taller than four feet high (please cut in half if necessary).

For retrieval of bulk items, you may schedule a pick-up by calling your district office: 760-430-8476.

Ya we already called about it and I called my district office but they said that they don't schedule bulk pick up's anymore according to waste management so I think it's something between the lincoln military housing and waste management they just need to figure out what to do becuase their not on the same page leaving us not knowing what to do! But, I'm just going to break them down and pile them in my garage and post on PYS if anyone wants free moving boxes they can come get them cuz I can't hule them away. 

Kinda dumb they won't pick up boxes to be recycled on a military base. The base recycle center is across from the airfield if you decide to take them in yourself. Sucks for people that can't transport larger items. 

Well our Green can is already full of cardboard because of christmas. We broke down the others and left them next to the Green Can. They haven't gotten anyones Can yet so we'll see if they get the boxes. I guess they wouldn't. It stupid they don't understand its Christmas. Half our street has a pile of boxes out. 

I went thru the same thing just the other day. You can load up all your "bulk trash" and take it to the Housing Office in Serra Mesa and they have large trash dumps for you to put it in. 

They really should provide dumpsters in each housing area if we can't get bulk trash pickup anymore. With people always PCSing there is always extra trash. If need be, take your extra stuff to a dumpster. When we moved, we took our extra trash to the dumpsters in Del Mar outside the barracks. We didn't know what else to do with it. 

There is a cardboard recycling transfer station on Vandegrift across from the Air Station (22 Area) behind the POV storage lot. There are huge dumpsters back there especially for cardboard. Here's a website that might help you:

Last week the trash picker upper knocked over one of our extra cans, trash went all over the place, and told us he's not picking it up, he doesn't care, and to call someone...so we did...we called housing..this week, same guy, not only did he knock over the SAME trash can and trash spills on the street, but he picked up the can, emptied it out for us, and put everything in the garbage truck. :) he was nice this week. 

Their are large bulk dumpsters for San Onofre residents next to the San O 1 dog park.

The trash truck that picks up the recycling can wrote some message on our trashcan with a paint marker saying not to park in front of the can. I called housing to report it so we wouldnt get charged and she didn't care and didn't write it down. Arg

We live in a cul de sac so it was our car. I had rolled them to the end of our driveway behind my car. They had not come by the time I had to leave for work and in order to move my car I had to move the cans. The grey trash one was accessible but I guess they didnt like where I put the recycling so they wrote this:
