Good morning, my husband and I are supposed to be moving from NJ to Pendleton as he's coming off recruiting duty- thank god...but I have no clue about anything there at pendleton. we are supposed to be moving to stuart mesa 2, and was wondering if anyone had any pictures or floor plans. I looked on the main lincoln military housing site, and it only shows stuart mesa 1.Thanks in advance!

They are brand new, so it may be hard to find floor plans and pictures online. Hopefully someone on here has some for you though :)

I hear they are alot like South mesa...maybe try to look at those to get an idea?

I don't think you can go wrong. I don't have pictures but id pay to move there and wish we were treated like the civilian world that once our lease was up we could enjoy the feedom to wait on a list for any housing of our choice we rate. I love the back yards, built in patio covers, and hiding area for trash cans. Also the higher fences. My husband will be here awhile and is about to get new orders. I told him its almost worth moving off base first. Such a stupid rule. They'll lose our bah all together. Anyway. Imo they are way better and made a lot of up grades.

laney's mommy I completely agree with you and it's what I've been saying for years! If we were out in town and our lease was up, we would have the freedom to move to where ever we wanted. And I too would gladly wait on a list for a house with a yard. I just don't understand their reasoning for wanting people to completely leave base before allowing them to be put on a wait list for a different housing area. Maybe I'll put that as a suggestion in the next CEL survey.

Sorry OP didn't mean to thread jack, I drove by Stuart Mesa 2 the other day and they are very nice! The yard is very nice and large with what looks to be semi-privacy fencing.

Thanks so much ladies- as it's hard to do anything really from over here...I'm just excited to not have to shovel anymore snow! (We got about 4+ ft of snow last winter, and I wanted to throw the shovel at someone!) For any of you that are near there- is there any way possible for someone to drive by and take a pic and post? I know it's asking a lot- so if not I understand, but it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!! I REALLY DO APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS! Have a good day!

Well I sure feel like I missed the boat!! When did they build new houses in Stuart Mesa? And where? We have only been gone from CP since June-are they that fast? Lol. Good luck OP with the move to CP, we really enjoyed our time there. One of the things we liked about it (especially now that we live in the boonies!) was how close everything was. In most housing areas there is a school and a little mini-mart. And the commissary is really close to S.M. too.

They are amazingly beautiful as housing goes however there are some drawbacks. You can see pictures of them at ahrn.com
The master bedroom is small and for me a little awkward, but you can totally get a queen sized bed in there. Also, since it's a pet friendly area I wish they would have decided on a slider instead of a door to access the back yard...but the door is beautiful.

I just did a tour of these homes. They are very nice on the outside, everything is brand new and you will have a huge hard. The lay out on the other hand - eh, i'm not a fan. The living room is really small and the guest bedrooms are small too. However, It's brand new & you can't beat that ;) lol

We just moved into Stuart mesa 2. We have a 3 bd and I can send you pics if you want :)

laneys mommy --- 13 years ago -

Are the rooms smaller then South Mesa? Just curious. I like our bedrooms sizes in South Mesa. I don't think their bad. The down stairs rooms are small however. I'd love to tour the Stuart Mesa homes. I use to be a realtor so I have a crazy obsession with homes. LOL

If you guys are talking about transferring, you can do it now. You do not need an exception policy. They just changed that rule so now you can transfer to a different housing area that you rate after your lease ends in six months.

Redhead Mommyx3 --- 13 years ago -

Wow, how did you hear about that, and from who? That is cool if they changed it!!

We did our exception policy letters done and the same day we handed them in, Wendy Gibson, the housing director said they just changed the rule and that they did it before we had to do our letters but the staff didn't know of the change yet

We had heard this when we moved in. Regarding the Stuart Mesa 2.. they are BEAUTIFUL, at least from the outside :)and the backyards are a definite upgrade from what we have in South Mesa 1. ( not complaining, I love the fact they we have a backyard, just not sure why they weren't a little bigger since there is room where they could have done just that.)

Redhead Mommyx3 --- 13 years ago -

I just talked to Richard Thompson the housing assignment manager and the district manager for our housing and they said YES you still need an exception to policy letter to move if you are already housed, unless you pick up rank or need an extra bedroom due to pregnancy. Maybe the lady meant for those two options?? :-(

We got lucky with a big South Mesa yard. I looked at picutres of Stuart Mesa 2 on the AHRN website and it looks smaller than South Mesa 1.

Yeah I talked to the Stuart mesa lady who said the same thing :-( But she told me we should put an exception in. How hard are they to get approved now? I even told her I didn't think we had a good enough reason but she said we should try. I HATE being on Wire Mt road! Its getting worse with the trucks. Part of my EFMP which they knew are horrible Mirgaines so we hear engines all day since were at the 4 way stop. Now i'm dealing with smoke. I went on Topamax two weeks ago but I swear its making me lose my mind. Its great for losing weight but not quite worth losing my mind. LOL

Redhead Mommyx3 --- 13 years ago -

They are not that hard ours got accepted and I heard they normally do as long as your husbands CO approves it and gives his/her approval :-) Try for it and good luck!!! Let me know if you have any questions we just put one in about 8 months ago and it got approved!!
