so we moved to stuart mesa may 8 and since our first day i kept hearing scratching noises in between the walls in the master bedroom thinking they were squirrels. last night i was in the living room when i saw a mice go under my couch coming from the kitchen. i almost had a heart attack! today a technician came to inspect the house and found a hole in our back patio. he said that the new construction took over their habitat and they are all coming our ways and making their homes inside our houses. i would suggest everyone to inspect their homes before its too late and harder to get them out. hopefully we will be mice free in a few weeks.

yea, old news! lol we have been getting mice here for years! I say buy the traditional traps, those sticky pads didn't work for us, they dang thing freed himself from it!

Doo Schnugget --- 12 years ago -

Yeah, unfortunately can't buy traditional traps with kids.

true! or you can gate off ur kitchen for a few days till u catch the booger, my hubby set it up on the kitchen counter and it was like mice homicide on my counter, i bleached that countertop for like a week straight!

YOU MAD BRO --- 12 years ago -

you will never be rid of them.. they have sealed holes several times in my house and they still show up out of no where.. its a pain but my friends have made me realize to suck it up and deal with it lol

Eviita --- 12 years ago -

Amelia: that sucks, i wish i had known before moving in :)
thats gross, now i have to bleach my countertops cause i dont know where they've been.

crafty Momma: i hope we dont have to just deal with it, its very incomfortable to be watching where i walk and making sure its not around. really hoping to be mice free and will for sure keep an eye on that hole in the patio.

We had the same problem when we lived there 7 years ago!!

HappyWifeHappyLifeS --- 12 years ago -

We had a mouse. My husband got it out of the house. Then the bastard came back! I got traps and he walked right through them(I saw him do it 4 times, he was taunting me at this point). Then I got sticky traps that clamp down on them when they get stuck. Well, I saw the jerk walk through one of the sticky traps(it never clamped down on him to kill him) and he limped away. Haven't seen him again in 2 weeks. *knocks on wood*

HappyWifeHappyLifeS --- 12 years ago -

Oh, and we are in Santa Margarita. Mice are all over this base. It is also a mouse preserve.

Eviita --- 12 years ago -

ok, im guessing sticky traps only work on small mice. thats the one i have in my house. hasnt even been two hours and there it is stuck already! big sigh of relief but i know for sure the momma is somewhere either in my walls or underneath the stove.

Doo Schnugget --- 12 years ago -

If you go to home depot there are mouse "house" traps. They are shaped like a box and you just put bait inside them (peanut butter) and when they go inside they can't get back out, the door closes behind them.

Hokey*Pokey --- 12 years ago -

I've been in Stuart Mesa for a couple months and we've had one mouse so far. But I think that was because my husbad left the patio door open all evening when he was grilling out. I never found any mouse droppings or anything chewed on, so I don't think it was here very long.

patch up the hole, and put sticky pads around the out side ur house where u think they might be able to get in.. the maily go under the fridge, couch , and any where theyy find lil snacks..

Apocalypse --- 12 years ago -

I've lived here for 4 years and have only gotten one mouse.

HAHAAHA
quit your complaining.

Out in Temecula where I live, we have field rats that are the size of my cat, and I am not exaggerating. My dog has chased two into my house, they are absolutely disgusting.

Ugh I know your frustration, about 2 weeks ago I was sitting on my couch writing my husband an email and I thought I seen something run across my kitchen, so I moved the computer and just stared...all of a sudden I seen a mouse by my dogs food, I freaked out. Maintenance came by the next day with the sticky traps, my son and I Layed down for a nap, when I woke up I had already caught two. I was and still am disgusted. Pest control came by a couple days later and found 4 points of entry :/ I have seen them come from under the stove and under the fridge. I thought they were gone cause I hadn't seen any in a week UNTIL two nights ago. I am so uncomfortable now, and watch where I step in fear a mouse might run from under the stove under my feet...Grr.

i think i have a right to be complaining and to be very much frustrated. this is my home, we eat here, we sleep here. mice spread diseases. sorry im not "used to" living around mice. actually i had never in my life seen one in person before last night.

I am so uncomfortable now, and watch where I step in fear a mouse might run from under the stove under my feet...Grr.

thats my exact feeling. i watch my step and feel paradoid everytime im downstairs. hope it gets fixed soon.

ewwwww y are we saving these stupid mice.. im tempted not getting rid of my cat..

what? saving them? i feel you! i thought they were getting killed once they get them out our homes. too bad im allergic to cats, otherwise i would have got one already.

Jlmontyswife --- 12 years ago -

fixed... we are letting these things mate and make more... ewww i figure it will just get worse..
