Hubby has to get his chucks ready for duty next week, what the F...he is with 1/4 @ horno.

MissMaggy --- 12 years ago -

Like we know these things... Ask your husband why or when they started.

sofaa --- 12 years ago -

Why don't you ask him?

Starr --- 12 years ago -

for duty? My DH has worn them for rainbow PT.

@homemami --- 12 years ago -

He is in the field...I thought they only wear them on formal events, bleh!

Jillian --- 12 years ago -

It's been a really long time, but I could swear I remember my hubs having to wear chucks to duty once when he was with 2/7. Like maybe when he was standing duty at hq. I really have no idea why, but I think I remember that happening once.

MasonsMommy --- 12 years ago -

Because he has A duty probably

O in the field??? Well that's just silly. Lol

Me+3 --- 12 years ago -

Mine has worn them once before on duty, but never again. Who knows why?!

Sarah Sparkles --- 12 years ago -

Silly girl...are you referring to Chuck Taylor tennis shoes?? She's referring to the dress uniform, charlies.

My husband has been at commands where they do that either because they have a gung ho new guy with some pull, or because collectively they've been "nasty" so it's like a punishment. Maybe that's what's happening?

Starr --- 12 years ago -

wait, are we all talking about the same chucks. I'm thinking Chuck Taylors..lol

♠VivaLaDoll♠ --- 12 years ago -

^^^ what?? lol

Kariane --- 12 years ago -

They started this where my husband was at a month before he got out. This was almost a year ago.

I'm thinking the same thing. I've heard of Charlies but not Chucks as a uniform option.

Starr --- 12 years ago -

Charlie AKA Chucks

texasbound --- 12 years ago -

my husband has to wear them on fri,sat and sun when he has barracks duty with his unit. plus his duty last 2 weeks every other day and one full weekend.

Mommy2Angels --- 12 years ago -

I actually asked my hubby, while he thinks actually wearing them can be a hinderance if anything actually happens on duty, the reason is because they want them in a different uniform from everyone else so they stick out more. They do cammies for weekend duty though.

Oh wait, I didn't read this part...I'm not sure why he has to wear them on the weekend.

Liz~*Celebrating Home *~ --- 12 years ago -

hubby is with 1/4 and he was told this after they came back from deployment.

hailstorm --- 12 years ago -

my hubs is with 2/11 and he has been having to wear them for months except the weekends. he usually goes in wearing civi's but im sure he changes over.

Lupe --- 12 years ago -

it depends on his unit. My hubby was at Pendleton with MTM and he did duty in his cammies, now that he is with Regiment in Hawaii everyone here wheres chucks.

The only way they can change to cammies over here is if it starts raining more than just a sprinkle. Hubby hates it.

MrsHancock --- 12 years ago -

My hubby's old unit 1/5 started wearing Charlies on duty, during the work time. It depends on what the command wants, but its not a must by marine corp order or anything. If the command says wear them, then he has too.

lousmom --- 12 years ago -

My hubs command used to always have duty in cammies now its always chucks. I'm not sure why they changed it but that is how they want it to be so he just does it and doesn't complain.
