i really hope they tie her tubes in jail...i would love there to be a law where it says if you are a dumb parent you wont be allowed to have children again like the post of the lady whos baby that got bit by a pit and had her two other kids taken away its like seriously we let these people breed

I agree. In some states, Sexual Offenders have to be chemically castrated. They should do Vasectomies for Idiot Mothers so they can't reproduce. 

seriously ...its sad that some people just pump out kids and don't care to even bother with them like taking care of them and making sure their needs are met...my aunt and uncle adopted a little boy like 10 years ago and the mother had the two older kids taken away and then he was taken away and then the youngest two were taken away 2 years later its like seriously come on you don't deserve to be able to have kids

What states? I believe there is a program in WA. However, the sex offenders have to volunteer for the procedure. I am asking because I am curious. 

that is horrible. people can be so stupid. i wonder why she only got 10 days in jail though while her boyfriend got like 36 months or whatever..??? she deserves more time in jail too.

so i looked it and the scary thing is that if they stop taking the drugs guess what the sex drive comes back they basically give them female birth control...the depo shot so it lasts 3 months then if they miss the next one everyone's screwed lol...i looked and it actually started here in Cali and then went to Florida and then Wisconsin, Oregon, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, and Texas 

It was presented to us during a presentation in class, I believe it's California, Florida, Texas, and a couple other states. I think all in all, there's 8 states that legalizes it but I could be wrong. I wasn't aware that the sex offenders would have to volunteer, but I wish it was a mandatory procedure. 

Just the THOUGHT Of sexual offenders and child molesters makes my Blood Boil. 

Here in Cali you can actually be sentenced to have it done if the crime was a serious sex crime (which i think should happen to John Gardner the guy who killed those two high school girls i think late last year early this year)and same with Louisiana

I have mixed feelings about that idea. I have known a lady that was into drugs and doing bad things and had kids in the mix. They went to jail for whatever drug charges(her and her husband). They took her boys away and her MIL had permanent custody. She has since cleaned up her act and is doing really well. She was in her late teens when this all went down. I believe that she is something like 32 today. Now she can't have her boys back at all. She gets some visitation but that's about it. How ever at least its family that has her boys. They know that she is mom but they also don't think that they have to listen to her and that is heartbreaking to her.
IMO.. government already has too much control over what people can and can't do. It has to be up to families to govern themselves in this situation. Do I think she should have been jailed? Yes. Actually I think it should have been longer than just 10 days. I don't feel that personal (as in bodily) functions should be taken away. People can mature and change for the better.

For sexual crimes that is a different thing... that deserves full punishment. If it means electing them to procedures that take away their reproductive capabilities.

During that time in her life when she was doing drugs, imagine the living conditions of her children. What if something happened. What if something happened that cost those kids their lives. Some children are fortunate and are able to have second chances at life. Some children aren't so fortunate, some children die because of the mistakes their Parents made.

True. But to have a blanket law that says if you have this IQ or lower you cant have kids. Or a law that says if you make a stupid stupid mistake once in your life you can never have kids again. I don't know that still seems harsh to me. How would you draw that line?
The lady I was talking about... her boys normally stayed with a family member. They kept the boys safe when she was out acting badly. The family was 'governing' the care of the boys. They were the ones who turned her in and in the following hearings they were awarded to family.

Like I said I am on the fence about this type of thing. Personal rights and such. I can see how this girl Jayla should at least for a while have only visitations. Or take him away permanently because it was a direct act of violence to him. Sterilization just seems cruel. 

this stuff makes me sick. I can't imagine ever doing anything to harm or cause emotional distress on such a young child. Don't they freakin' get that things that happen in the child's early years will affect them for the rest of their lives.

There's a fence in every statute, and every law. The reason why chemical castration isn't legal in every state is because of lines. While some people may feel as if it's appropriate, others feel as if it's cruel.

I am just writing in regards to a program shown in a documentary. I could've sworn it was on an island in WA. However, it could've very well been Oregon. It was a facility for high risk sexual predators with no hope for rehabilitation. They had to volunteer to go to the facility and partake in the chemical castration. Once there is was near impossible for them to leave.

It's definitely unfortunate & interesting topic.

Vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure wherein the vasa deferentia of a man are severed, and then tied/sealed in a manner which prevents sperm from entering the seminal stream (ejaculate). Vasectomy should not be confused with castration (male), which is the surgical removal of the testicle(s).
