I know this is the MC and they can do what they want but this is out of control.
My hubs is injured and has been told he is "faking it" by his command even though he has been in pain for over two months now. His doctors are saying one thing and his command is saying another. He has light duty but the command is ignoring it and making his injury worse.
It's horrible to watch someone you love suffer both mentally and physically and we both feel like we are losing our minds.
Any advice from someone in a similar situation?
Thanks.

YOU can't do anything.

Your husband needs to grow a pair and go up the chain of command.

If he's hurt, he better be prepared for a med sep in the near future.

Start getting your finances in order and get ready for the civilian world.

He's on LIMDU so obviously he has medical backing/documentation of his injury.

I doubt you mean his "command" as a whole, it's probably just his direct supervisors that are claiming he's "faking it" because they want work production out of him.

The "grow a pair" part is accurate though. He needs to go up his chain of command if he's being forced to exert himself while in a LIMDU status.

No commanding officer is going to risk disciplinary action and his/her career going against a med board claiming a Marine is faking an injury when the Marine has medical backing stating he's injured that would be career suicide for the CO.

Med Sep and getting your finances in order at this stage is a ridiculous suggestion talk about jumping the gun with assumptions.

No, MC is looking for any excuse to downsize the ranks. Hurt/sick are the first to go.

If her husband is being hounded to work hurt, it's only a matter of time before he's up for a med sep hearing.

Better to get the finances in order now, than to get blindsided by a med sep.

I'm not saying the military isn't trying to downsize because they are across all branches, but where do you get your information??? Hurt/Sick are the first to go?

Wouldn't it pretty much be common sense? If they're cutting people who are ready/willing/able to do their jobs, cutting the people who can't just seems logical. It's just my opinion.

From the 5 or so Marines I know who DIDN'T want out and got bounced through med sep. They did everything they could to stay in, including ignoring their limdu to keep up with the unit.

Of course, if a med board has already convened and their recommendation is separation. Do you know how long that process is and how much red-tape is involved getting someone med sep'd? It's not an easy thing or something that is taken lightly.

The first to go are people who pop for drugs or commit crimes, high-year tenures, people not within standards...etc.

My point is, her family has time it's not going to be an overnight thing there will be plenty of notification if it's going the route of a possible med sep.

Medsep is a long process, so you have plenty of time to get your things in order.
But if he is hurt then yes throw the BS flag at who ever is in charge. If you have medical limdu/lightduty chit they you and the command have to stick to what the doctors recommendations are. If it says NO PT then that means NO PT. I would tell him to take it up the chain. Or speak to the doc and tell him/her that your NCO/SNCO is making you PT. The doc will have to take it to the CO. Its his responsibility.
