we are moving on base soon and are planning to buy washer and dryers. does base housing have gas or electric connections for dryers? Also, will large washer and dryers fit? We are possibly moving into stuart mesa housing with 3 bd.

Most base houses have BOTH hookups. Electric dryers are cheaper to purchase, but gas is cheaper to run when you consider a monthly utility bill.

I'm not sure if base housing has started to charge for utilities when i lived on base they did not, but i heard they either are now or will in the future.

If you are buying new i'd suggest buying gas, if you are buying used and base isn't charging utilities an electric is the cheaper way to go.

thank you for your reply and advice. from what i've been reading on PU, it seems that they have started charging so I guess we will probably go with gas.

I would still go with an electric dryer.

Reason being if you plan on taking it with you when you PCS, not all bases have gas hookups.
