I have been racking my head all day trying to find a maradmin for this, and I can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for.

Short story short? Hubs was pegged for recruiting, but didn't have enough time left on his contract to fulfill the duty, so they extended his contract 4 months.

His original eas was in August, and then pushed to December. So, he went to submit reenlistment paperwork a few months back (on recruiting duty now) and he was told he can't reenlist (yet?) and that his original unit should have reenlisted him for a full contract time vs just extending him a couple months. Fairly confident he was told he had to wait until his extension starts (or maybe ends?) to submit for reenlistment.

Anyone been in a similar situation and can fill in the holes for me? or postly ppoint me in the direction of the appropriate maradmin?

I'm just worried, something will go wrong, and find out the information he was given was incorrect, and mess up his reenlistment process all together. I've heard too many horror stories similar in nature.

back in the day.. you could reenlist on your old schedule as long as you had not started the extension... but i'm getting old now, so that might be a figment of my imagination.

I read that on a few boards when googling, only issue is finding more official info that correlates to it or finding someone to know their job if it can still happen.

According to DH who is also on recruiting duty he can not reenlist until he finishes his b-billet he can only extend.

what rank is your husband and how many years has he been in?

Champ --- 10 years ago -

E5- august will be 9 years. He will be in the below zone this year.

Though I think we got the answers we need already at this point.

the reason i asked is that one of the reasons he may not be able to reinlist is his time left in. the cutoff for sgts is now 10 years and he may be able to get an extra 2 years after that to get on the board twice. below zone is still not in zone and it may take forever or never depending on his job to get in zone. my husband is almost done w/ recruiting and is infantry which is slow to pick up. he is 10 years in the fall and had to extend to the end of the year for recruiting. from what i know, he would not be allowed to reenlist unless he picks up so he can only extend his contract for a couple more years.

Yeah. I think that's basically where we are at now. Told he can reenlist 7 months past boards each time until he picks up or gets looked over, but has to wait until his extension actually starts to do anything.
