What brand are you looking at getting?

Maleficent --- 12 years ago -

I really like go greens and thirsties. Alva baby has a series that mega cheap very similiar to them so I'm probably going to order a few of those but not too many in case they suck. I also have a work at home mom making some just like those to see if I like hers better because I like so support the little guy. Lol

I have heard there in a facebook page for CD moms for camp pendleton :)

Maleficent --- 12 years ago -

Ah so there is! Thanks!

MamaBee --- 12 years ago -

Hello! I've been CDing my daughter for almost 11 months and I'm simply in love! There are 2 awesome pages for camp pendleton cloth mamas- Military cloth-a-holics (my favorite) and the b/s/t page is great! The girls met up once a month for a playdate and check out Mama Ali Creations she makes cloth diapers here on base!

Maleficent --- 12 years ago -

Thank you MammaBee! I was on the B/S/T page but not the other one!

What are the advantages of cloth diapering vs regular?

Maleficent --- 12 years ago -

The biggest one is $$$.
According to babycenter you will spend an average of $72/month buying disposables. With CD you really only need between 24-30 depending on how often you want to do laundry and some other factors. Around 24 is typical though with doing laundry every other day. The most expensive CD I have seen go for around $20 each and I have seen them as cheap as $4-$6 each. Many cloth diapers have size adjustable snaps so they can fit most kids from newborn to potty training, meaning these are the only ones you will have to buy the entire time they are in diapers. So just in the first year alone you can either spend around $864 on disposables or you can buy all the diapers you will ever need for around $500 *if* you get he most expensive brands, $150 for the cheaper ones.

#2- The chemicals in disposables. This one is more of a hippie reason but my daughters both had issues with most disposables so we had to keep them naked frequently which kind of defeat the entire purpose of diapers altogether. :/ There is far less of a chance of a bad reaction to CD.

There are others but I am still only in the researching phase of everything since my baby isn't due until Oct. This is just from what I have learned and what I have heard from the more experienced cloth diapering moms.

Me!!! But I'm not at camp p. :)

I've gone through a variety. I just sold off a ton since only my little guy is the only one in cloth now and I wanted to simplify as much as possible ( but I have a diaper buying problem)current stash is aio totsbots, swaddle bees simplex, old bum genius elemental, and then covers ( mainly flips) and flats: new flip daytime organic, imagine bamboo, imagine prints, and just regular receiving blankets.

Wow that's a lot and to think that was simplifying. Hah

Champ --- 12 years ago -

I should say I spent more than $500, but I had two in cloth and I recouped about 75% of that when I sold off my large stash, then spent the same money for the easy stash and then can sell those later. :)

Hello, I know this post is a bit old, but we cloth diaper our younger ones. Well the older of the younger ones is pretty much potty trained now so just down to the 5 month old. Also a quick shameless plug, we started making our own and have started to sell them. So if any of you are interested just let us know and of course we give a military discount. https://www.facebook.com/SewGreeneDiapers

question... Is it harder to transition to normal underware when kids are used to CD? I know when they wear diapers its a different feeling wearing underware.. thus, i think may be easier to potty train.

Maleficent --- 11 years ago -

Actually from what I understand, its actually easier but Ive only read that, I dont have that experience yet.
