After our move I discovered some things missing and damages to some things as well (mainly our TV). I filed a claim online already...anyone know how long it takes to hear something back?

Ugh. We filed online, too, called our local DMO office and THEY called the moving company 2-3 times. We finally heard something back about 3-4 weeks after submitting the online claim. Then, the moving company had to assign a local adjuster, who sent someone to take photos and write a report. The adjuster just received the report last weekend and said they should have an offer to us "soon". We received our HHG on September 28th.

I don't know if the moving company would have eventually called us if we didn't have DMO call a few times. Also, I asked DMO what would happen if they just never responded to the claim and they had NO response for me. They said "well, I guess you can go to base legal or something" LOL

ARGH! That sucks...I guess the only thing we're concerned with is the TV. It was expensive and now it's damaged. Also my entire Pampered Chef collection is missing...guess we'll chuck it up as lost :-(

We totaled up the amount of everything that was damaged and we are in the $18,000+ area. Every single piece of wood was damaged, our grill, our custom made sectional sofa, chandelier - all destroyed, everything was wrapped loosely with paper, then stacked on each other in the crates where they shifted. I know we won't get anywhere close to that amount, but I am not going to let them get away with the damages. That was their only JOB lol getting it from CA to HI safely. I wouldn't give up, either, the movers are insured for a certain amount based on your weight/rank - just be a friendly pest :)

but I am not going to let them get away with the damages.

I'm putting the effort for our claims and follow-up. That way I can say I at least tried. Good luck on your claim...you def have it worst than us. We are just happy and grateful our big furniture items came intact for the most part. I shall pester tomorrow :-) Thanks for the input!
