Just randomly looking through PendletonYardSales.com and came across this:

"Looking for a pregnancy test pretty broke til payday willing to trade an item for it im located in Stuart mesa housing thanks so much"

I'm sorry, but, REALLY?!? You're asking for a FREE pregnancy test?!? If one thinks oneself is pregnant and can't afford a pregnancy test until payday do they not realize raising a child is going to cost more than a $6 pregnancy test.

(Taking a deep breathe)

Maybe it's the inner me being jealous bc I'm about to drop $7,000 for an IVF procedure. But honestly, the last time I checked the military provides healthcare where a "pregnancy" could be prevented via numerous contraceptive devices provided. They also provide a pregnancy test(FREE!) if one thinks their pregnant.

I'm sorry but I had to vent that one out.

Or, you know, the dollar store tests, which are pretty reputable.

Rainbow Dancer - may I ask if you are going through IVF through the military? I have my next fert appt with the navy doc in San Diego. Did you have to go through that?

Didn't know that!! I've just been buying the 5 digital tests in one box at Wal-Mart.

RCBell- Honestly, we haven't decided yet. We are still going through the pros and cons of military vs civilian. Military I believe is only going to cost about $3000 BUT theres a year waitlist (just from what I was told by my OB). Verse going civilian route it will cost roughly around $7000 but NO waitlist.

There are some other factors vs the two that we are still weighing out... but we are leaning towards the civilian route because with IVF you are more likely to have multiple births and with my husband non-deployable for the next 2 years, my family being here and my employer (i'm a civilian, non-gov't/federal job) providing paid maternity leave I personally feel starting the procedure as soon as possible, while we have time here would be best. I raised my two other girls by myself (being in Hawaii away from family and my ex-husband constantly deployed) when they were infants/toddlers and it would've been a lot easier to have extra hands to help ESP if we may be having twins/triplets/etc (who knows)

Yes the dollar tree ones are supposed to work just the same as the others.
Walmart also has the same ones as the dollar tree for 88 cents lol

Well there ya go ladies!! Now if only that ad were still posted on PYS I'd email her and inform her of these prices where she can purchase a CHEAP! pregnancy test w/o having to blast her and her husbands unfortunate income situation. (sigh)

Yes! I used this brand I found out I was pregnant with a VERY faint blue line, and I was very early in my pregnancy so they do work very well.

I'm sure this lady has neighbors/friends who can take her to any of these places to purchase a test or take her to the Naval Hospital to take a Free! test there.
