U.S. Marine Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST) Company. I was wondering if anyone has any information on this? Thanks. 

My hubs was in FAST, but it was a LONG time ago. I'm sure things have changed. But what do you need to know? 

Where was he stationed? Did you (and family) go with him? Overall how was it? What's the daily schedule like for him?

I figured I wouldn't be any help. He was stationed at Norfolk, VA and it was before we were married. He lived in the barracks, and we had a lot of conversations that went like this:

"Hi, Listen, I can't come up this weekend."

"Why, do you have to work?"

"I can't say."

"Are you going somewhere?"

"Yep, can't say."

"How long?"

"I don't know. Watch the news."

And then I wouldn't see him for 2 weeks, or 2 months. I'd get letters in the mail and I'd send care packages to their strange, cryptic addresses. I'd figure out where he was by watching tv news. Once, serendipitously, I saw him on the roof of the Haitian embassy on the evening news. LOL!

I don't know if they operate like that anymore, but that was my experience. As a girlfriend. And I STILL married into the Corps after all that. What was I thinking? LOL!

Its not so bad. My hubby was with fast in norfolk and he wished he stayed there. They deployed to cuba,spain,and bahrain. I spoke to him like everyday sometimes more then once a day. They are very diff then a grunt unit i will say. Very neat and on top of their appearance and they take pt and field ops VERY SERIOUSLY. If you move DONT live on base in norfolk look into chesapeake and virginia beach. Im from va beach and worked in norfolk so i know the area very well :-) pm me if you have any questions.

Awesome. My statement wasn't that they can't communicate...it was reflective of 'back in the day' before email and cell phones. We're really ancient and hubs has been in FOREVER. LMAO!
