Turns out wine country is right down the road from our new house, so what are some good ones to hit up on a lazy weekend?

South Coast has won some awards, I've also heard good things about Wilson Creek. There might be reviews on yelp you can look up, I don't drink so I can't tell you from personal experience. There is also an olive farm here (makes their own olive oil and balsamics), a lavender farm, blueberry farm, strawberry farm, and lots of other things.

I like Wilson Creek and Ponte Wineries! We will often have lunch at Ponte. Also if you like to go wine tasting Living Social and GroupOn sometimes have really good deals on tasting tours in Temecula wine country!

Now I'm drooling! I already snagged some avocados, and some citrus last weekend.

I'm LOVING this area!

We love Ponte! The other ones are great but if you're on a budget like me you can't beat $20 for a tour and tastings!

Where abouts are you? We live like 10mins from wine country up by Skinner Lake.

GardenWitch --- 13 years ago -

Yep, we are southwestish (? not sure of my directions yet) of Skinner Lake.

There's an organic farm on the other side of my back fence!

*poof*

I saw it before it poofed and it was a great view! I hope you enjoy living out here, once you get used to the heat... lol... it's really great! So very family friendly and the schools are excellent. We only bought because my mom and sister were moving in, but I'm so very glad we did.

I'm freezing so far....

accountnickname --- 13 years ago -

Oh not now! It will get into the 110+ quite often in July/August. I know my house is built for the heat though, although it stays cold without the heat as a result.
