I'm currently having strongly considering changing my OB care to out in town. I'm currently with OB with Dr. Choi and lets just say I was very far from impressed the 1st time I saw him.I was originally with family practice and had a horrible experience and requested to be transfered up to OB. I have read on here that he is horrible and have heard a terrifying story about him from an old neighbor of mine. I'm Extremely Nervous now, to see him. Today I went for my 19 week ultrasound over at TRI CITY. I waS called back to the ultrasound sweet about 10 minutes after my appointment. When I got back there the tech said your dr. is on the phone. Apparently my Placenta is covering my cervix. Dr. Choi was very vague in telling me what was happening. When I asked him if the baby would be okay, his words to me were Probably!!! Really Probably, not the words I wanted to hear. I'm really struggling with staying at Naval Hospital and requesting another dr. or taking my care out in town. I could really use some advice. Also would love some insight if any of you woman have had the issue with your placenta was covering your cervix. Thank you in advance.

If you're not comfortable then I would switch. I've heard nothing but bad things about him. He is also very c-section happy.

I have heard bad things... I would change at atleast to a different ob.

My husband used to work on postpartum in the NH and told me Choi once did 7 c sections in one night. He is knife happy. He was in Guam last I heard. Guess he came back.

I've heard he's a bad OB..I think most of you that have heard bad from him should actually take the time to ICE him so that they can dismiss him from his duty on base!

I've also heard to stay away from heart.

My SIL had SDR. Wootten for both of her births & absolutely loved her...But she'll be PCS'ing soon.

I heard he had horrible bed side manners. I was supposed to have my c-section done by him and as soon as I heard he was goin to be performing the CS I immediately requested that he not do it. Dr. Mostafian was pretty awesome. I don't know if she's still there, but she listens to concerns and questions and takes her time with you.

If you don't mind me asking, which are the good OB's ? Which ones would you suggest we stay away from?

HarlequinSoul --- 13 years ago -

I just had Dr. Shannon for my ectopic surgery and she is absolutely lovely. Very sweet and concerned about you and your thoughts and feelings. She is a good listener and she is just very nice and good bedside manner. She was very sensitive to my emotions given my situation.

Dr. Shannon is an ob at nhcp by the way.

Anyone heard of a Dr. Luna?? I have an appt with this Doctor tomorrow. It's my first appointment with OB.

3lilmunchkin --- 13 years ago -

I have Dr. Luna now, Im 18 weeks and I actually quite enjoy her. She is short, sweet to the point and works for me but this is my 4th baby so I dont like being in there longer than I have to.

@ 3lilmunchkin - my fourth too. This is my first time at the Naval Hospital. My other 3 were high risk and delivered off base. I hope to have a good experience with Dr. Luna. :)-

Anyone heard anything about Dr. Lipsec?

shesfromthevalley --- 13 years ago -

I had Wooten and loved her. I don't recommend Moran. She's nice but rushes through her appointments.

I had Dr. Choi and I thought he was great. His bedside manner needed some help, but other than that he was great! My c-section scar is hardly noticeable and he took very good care of me during my whole pregnancy. I hate to read that so many people have heard he was awful. If you can handle his bedside manner then he is one of the best doctors there.

I see Dr. Stoker for my care. This is my third pregnancy. Last time I was seen in FP until we found out he was breech at 38 weeks. I met Dr. Stoker then and she was really sweet. She performed the csection and this time around I requested to be seen by her.
