Does the member need to be completely checked before they can accept base housing? All bases seem to do it differently. Thanks 

I believe there is some form the command has to sign. When we got here my husband went straight to his command and told them he needed to go to housing so we could have a place to live. I think there was a form they signed and he got to leave right away and take care of housing. Then he went back to the command to finish checking in. 

No, we were moved in before my husband had to check in. They just wanted a copy of the orders. They will also except your rate for BAH from where ever you are PCSing from. We moved here and my husband took 30 days of leave before he had to check in. We rated the 29 Palms BAH until he checked in and it wasnt a problem. They just took what we got for 29 

We just had to fax a copy of my husbands orders to get on the list and to move in. 

It might of been less than 30 days, but it was something like that. We still had a month or 2 months before our BAH rate changed once we moved here. 

Nope, we got on the list really early by doing it on line, (not that it mattered, lol) just got here on a Friday night, got our house on Monday, and he did not check-in until the following Monday. :) 

no, we dont get to camp pendleton till may 22nd and we already have an address to our house.. they will save it for you as long as you have your web orders and all paper work signed, scanned and emailed to them.
