This is probably a long shot but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with their kiddos on state insurance. My husband EAS'd a couple weeks ago and my son finally got approved for Medi-cal. I got the booklets and everything in the mail about choosing a provider..we wanted to choose Kaiser but everything had been difficult so far. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is Kaiser the best to choose or one of the other options? Any opinions are welcome. Thanks so much!

I had my daughter on medi cal previously, and I had kaiser. I put her on blue cross (or blue shield?) And liked it. We were able to choose from a larger network of hospitals & doctors. I wasn't a huge fan of kaiser when I had it. If you're used to the NH then kaiser won't be weird. I hated the appt line, and that I had to jump through hoops to get referrals. After I transitioned from medi-cal I ended up purchasing an insurance policy for my daughter that allowed us to keep the same ped & hospital.

It's only for my son and he was never seen at the NH...he was seen by one doctor off base. I have googled everything and looked online, but can't find too much information. :/
