I am going to stop by housing this week to look at floor plans, but the location of the housing area concerns me-- is it quite noisy? The yard is what draws me to it!

I still can't decide on which area to pick-- South Mesa I or Stuart Mesa II

(E-6, no kids, pets)

I was going to go with south mesa. i am so glad i chose stuart mesa II. It's actually quiet back here since its away from stuart mesa I. I haven't even heard a party yet and we've been here 5 months. I personally think the layout is much better than south mesa's.

I would look at a house in each community and pick. We loved Stuart Mesa II's location and the yard is what we really wanted. The community is also really pretty. With no kids I'd say it would be the best choice. The house inside has upgrades that South Mesa doesn't.

For us, once we saw the inside of Stuart Mesa II, there was no way. The 4 bedroom in Stuart Mesa II is smaller then the one in South Mesa. We actually didn't like the Stuart mesa floor plan even though it was very simliar to South Mesa. It was a mini version. With three kids we want all the space we can get. The Master bedroom was also smaller and our stuff probably wouldn't have fit. Thats the 4 bedroom though. Three bedroom might have bigger rooms. If there is one open they should let you look at it first. :-) We did.

That is what it looks like from the pictures. Thank you for saying that! When I go to the housing office I will definitely ask to see them. According to their "hot sheet" they don't have any vacant in Stuart Mesa II so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do a tour. But at least I can look at a floor plan and ask about square footage. If it is much smaller I guess we will have to decide between a nice yard or more living space. Decisions decisions!

South Mesa has a funky floor plan downstairs. There is a teeny room downstairs that is suppose to be the living room. You might get a little more square footage with south Mesa but a lot of it is wasted space.

Love Stuart mesa 2... everyone pretty much keeps to themselves, it's quiet, and a great location. Master bedroom is a bit small for us, but all and all great choice.

Message me if you want any specifics or pictures. We went through alot and decided on here because of the yards, newly built homes, seemed quiet, and layout.

You kids live in luxury compared to the pre-WWII, asbestos filled shacks that they used to offer.

I really feel very thankful that housing has been updated (for the most part.) Military housing and other buildings were plain shameful before. But I do believe that proper benefits are definitely earned by our Marines (again for the most part!)

LOL that is pretty much the exact description of our first house, except the stove also only had 1 (sometimes 2) working burners, the gas pipe had so much rust it developed leaks several times, and a nasty sludge grew everywhere outside. Could be worse, like the house that had the bathtub fall through the ceiling and smash all over the kitchen floor. ;)
