Anyone ever been stationed there? Hubs lat move to linguist was accepted and we will be getting orders to Monterey some time early next year. I have already been doing tons of research but i want I want to talk to someone to get a lively perspective.

I was stationed there several years ago. It was a great place back then, but I hear student life. Is much more strict. I was a linguist and loved it. Lat movers aren't exactly liked tho, so warn him to expect being picked on for it. Nothing mean, just in jest. Lat movers have a high fail rate so they get a bad rep. After DLI, he'll go to San Angelo, TX for 2-6 months depending on his language. That school is unaccompanied ( at least it was a couple years ago). Feel free to PM with any questions.
