They are here as well. I mean catty women as well as east coast catty women. 

It's TONS cheaper to live back home. For everything. We could be living in a house bigger than housing and for rent and utilities not pay more than $1000. Cali really sucks on all counts. People, traffic, cost of living, food...nothing worth while out here. 

My BIL just got out of the Army. He got a job in Florida and they just bought a decent 4 bedroom house for 80,000. My mom was telling me how homes are a lot less there. WOW.

Oh its the same way back home. It's def a buyers market right now. With all the foreclosures and things out there. There's so many houses up for grabs. 

The issue is to find a house in decent shape after being a foreclosure/short sale.

True but if its cheap enough you will have plenty left over for renovations. 

BTW, I want to donkey punch the previous owners who purposefully damage/destroy the house because their bank foreclosed on them because they couldn't be civil and responsible and make their mortgage payments. 

Why the hell people would do this is beyond me.

Not all Cali people are crazy and self absorbed. Hell I've run into more out of state people due to the good ol' corps and they seem to want nothing but the need to use people. So I say it comes from everywhere rather than just Cali. 

I was born and mostly raised in California and not in one spot in California. I was born in Central, moved to Northern, and now live in Southern.
I lived in Canada for four years and have traveled all over the U.S.
Catty women are EVERYWHERE!
It's the way we are. There are exceptions of course but at the end of the day, women fight for men, fight because they think one woman is ugly, fight because one woman wore sweat pants, etc. It's endless and you'll see it everywhere.
Maybe in other places they just say it behind your back. 

P.S.
Minimum wage is higher here than in other places.
They raise the amount of pay due to the expense of the state so yes, we are expensive. That's just normal for every single state. 

I have to admit that I do like visiting my husband in Cali, but after a little bit I want to go home. I'm from 'the South' and I do find there is still much more hospitality here.

Also, I could not believe how much things cost in Cali. Like paying extra for bottled water at the grocery store??? I think recycling is great, but a personal choice, and I should be charged more for products if I choose not to.

I get to deal with female "catiness" quite often... It boggles my mind that the wives of America's Fighting Men will gang up on a neighbor wife; verbally insult her, attack her on facebook (and PU) ect and even physically assault them.

We are all on the same team... I thought 

I usually don't involve myself with any wives on base and I choose my friends I do hang out with so I don't really have any issues here.
