We just got ours and our kiddos named him Freckles. I think its the cutest idea, I wish we would have got him earlier this year, but I just heard about him. This is gonna be a fun tradition for as long as the kids believe in Santa! So cute!

We bought the elf on the shelf kit, and had a coupon to get the movie for free. :) my husband wants to hide him in like 10 different places tonight, haha! 

We got ours on Dec. 1st and I had him "mailed" to our door wrapped in Santa's special wrapping. I have hid him in funny place every night. My kids love waking up and finding "CHEEKY" My hubs favorite hiding spot so far was when I had him set up playing with army men against Buzz Lightyear. 

My mom got one for my kids last year. They named him Jack. The second my oldest daughter wakes up, she searches for him. And the second she's naughty, I say, "remember, Jack is watching...." :)

parenting is so much easier with Jack around, haha

My mother bought my daughter "Elfy", and he is definitely working. lol. I love that she wakes up and he is the first thing she looks for. I love the innocence of all of this. The believing, the excitement in your childs eyes, its genuinely the sweetest smile and laughter. 

lol my son named his elf Elfy too. its been fun and pinterest had so many creative ideas for it! 

Freckles, our "Elf on the Shelf", "toilet papered our tree" last night. =) So when our daughter woke up she said "Freckles... I thought you were supposed to be watching us to be good, maybe Santa wants us to watch you!!" LMAO! (Which is exactly what I was goin' for! HAHA!)

Tomorrow theyre going to wake up to Freckles sitting with a paint brush dipped in red paint, and a note saying "Kids, go look in the mirror! Love, Freckles" and thier noses will be painted like Rudolph! =)

I'm already over those things. Typical holiday marketing gimmick that has nothing to do with the meaning of Christmas just more crap for parents to feel guilt-ed into buying their kids. 

We love ours. $25 for a childhood full of fun memories. Our elf and Jesus are pals. The kids have 4 eyes on them this time of year. ;)
