My husband is overseas right now and left me in charge of choosing a place to live. He works in 41 area (las Flores) and I'll be moving on base early next year before he comes home. I've seen Stuart Mesa housing and thought it was nice but have read that wire mountaand pacific view are good too. Can someone who lived or been in both places let me know what they prefer? We have two kids and rate a 3 bd room house. We don't have pets. Thanks :)

Love love love my house in PacView!

I lived in stuart mesa and I liked my house. I now live in Pacific View and I LOVE my house :)

I wish we had lived in Pacific View! It's very quiet there and the houses are really nice. We had a dog though so we had to move into pet housing.

Thanks for commenting :) are there any specific reasons why you'd prefer pacific view?

I love that Pacific View is so open. Stuart Mesa is kind of closed off. I like a lot of natural light and you don't get that in Stuart Mesa.

This is the second time my husband and I have lived in Stuart Mesa. We absolutely LOVE our house. In our house the windows are huge in all of the rooms and we never ever hear our neighbors through the walls. Plenty of space and lots of big closets. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the fact that our laundry room is small.

My husband works in Las Flores and we live in WM2. We lucked out and got a house with a driveway, though. If we didn't have a cat I think we would have moved to Stuart Mesa. We like it here. My street is pretty quiet and our house is quite large.

akane26 --- 13 years ago -

Not all the houses have driveways in wm2?

akane26 --- 13 years ago -

And by "lucked out", do you mean you got lucky or unlucky, sorry people say this phrase and mean different things :)

AnaBanana --- 13 years ago -

No, we got lucky! Some of the houses in WM1 and WM2 have alley way houses. So those homes you pull into an alley and the garages are on either side... No driveways.

If Stuart Mesa is still giving money back I would probably move there!

I would say try to get wire mountain 3 housing so you can have a fenced backward. But i love my house in pacview its so large and spacious, i just dont like the kitchen lol. But we are moving out to stuart mesa in a view weeks to be closer to friends.

I live in Pacific View South and I really like it. There is so much storage all over the place, plus there are vaulted ceilings so it feels so open and big. Plus the neighborhood is very quiet. A lot of times when people come into the house they comment on how nice they are and they weren't expecting it. When we moved in they were running a special and we received a $1,500 Visa gift card and a frontloading washer and dryer (Whirlpool). I don't think they're still doing that, but I do believe it's one or the other now, instead of both.

I liked Stuart Mesa because we got $350 back each month.

Vivacious St0rm --- 13 years ago -

Agreed with Docswife!

Right now it's a one time lump sum of $1750 to move in here....

Thank you guys. This is very helpful info. I was trying to look for pictures of the houses but they didn't have some on the Lincoln housing site.

akane26 --- 13 years ago -

When they offer you $350 off your monthly rent, is that for the whole duration of your lease?

JediMommy --- 13 years ago -

Yes, If you live in stuart mesa. You can look once you get closer to moving at the hot sheet on the website. It shows all the available houses, if you can have pets, Which pets, and if there is a concession check or just a 1 time thing.

swankdoll --- 13 years ago -

My husband works in Flores as well and we have two kids we live in South Mesa 1 and love it. If I had to pick out of those 3 I would pick Wire Mountain 2 unless it was a Alley house then no thanks.

MrsTejeda --- 13 years ago -

We live in Stuart Mesa & my hubby I
works in 41 area also. He gets to work in 10mins or less which was a big factor on us moving here. There's different layouts some bigger than others. We have a 3br 1car garage. I liked the 2car garage since it was way bigger but chose this one since it was more suitable for us. (its just me., hubby & our 1yr old). I say study the layouts & search for pics on here.

Scroll through these threads I'm linking for some pictures of Pacific View.

Docs wife, that's of a 2 bedroom....

DocsWife --- 13 years ago -

They're not my pictures but I figured it'd give the general idea of what it looks like inside since there's nothing on Lincoln's site.

akane26 --- 13 years ago -

Thanks for the pics. I really appreciate it. I like the fact that Stuart mesa is closer by a few minutes but the distance isn't really a problem. We'd rather pick a better house. I looked at the layouts online and saw some that are 1 an 2 floors. Another worry of mine is if the floors are creeky I've been to Serra Mesa and everywhere you stepped on the second floor you would here it creek from the first floor. And the houses are duplex style right? Do you hear your neighbors? My kids could get pretty loud , I'm worried my neighbors will complain! Hehe..
