Does anyone on here make cake pops?

Liz~*Celebrating Home *~ --- 6 years ago -

I have made them before. They are pretty easy to do, but can be time consuming.

YouReallyThinkSo --- 6 years ago -

Mommyx2 does. And her baking is yummy.

gbob --- 6 years ago -

I just made (or am in the process of making) my first batch!
But I am having trouble with the candy coating. It is very thick. The bag says to add some vegetable oil and I did but it is STILL thick. Can anyone help me? I don't want to keep adding oil.....

I want to order about 20-25 for a birthday party. Anyone here make them? And how much?

I already talked with MommyX2, she's making my cake!

MommyX2 --- 6 years ago -

I can make normal ones (round), I dont feel comfortable with the shaped ones, and im not gonna promise someone something i cant do perfect until i can, you know, BUT, ill update in a week or two where im at with shaped ones. But for normal ones, ive got you covered!

Stop with the oil!! Youll change the taste of the chocolate too much - use paramount crystals. And when you add oil your changing the consitstancy of the chocolate - it wont harden back up the same.

We had a lady in Stuart Mesa do my sons Toy story mini cake and cupcakes she did an amazing job. Let me see if I can find pics.

MommyX2 --- 6 years ago -

what flavors

Any flavors you'd like, I dont have a set list of flavors, I make what people want. =)

But i have made flavors from "turtle" and "struessel" to neopolotin and chocolate.

mommyx2, do you do cake boxes, or scratch. i know it's a weird question, but i've been noticing a lot of people baking them with boxed mixes. also the cake pops i'm making the mom said she'll just buy all the stuff and asked if i can make them, and she'd rather get the boxed. lol

Aww thats cute! I did get my fixe a few weeks ago, I did toys story cupcakes in alien, the woody ones were cow pattern with a sherriff star on top, there were ones with clouds and his the number he was turning to look like the bedspread, and, the buzz ones had little jetpacks. =)

Everything I make is from scratch, using organic materials whenever possible. I want to open a bakery store front one day, and I cant do that using betty crocker, lol! (I will sometimes use boxes when im making the kids or hubby something though lol, im horrible.)

Barbie --- 6 years ago -

I'm going to attempt to make them for my son's 1st birthday! I want to make pineapple upside down cake ones.

cede --- 6 years ago -

That's okay! :) I'm looking for good recipes, I like foodnetwork because they have recipes from cupcake wars.. but other than that, have any good ideas for cake recipes? I also wanna open up a bakery :) My mom is in school for business right now to do so!

This was his 3rd bday, I kept the cupcakes and cake a surpirse and he LOVED them.

cede --- 6 years ago -

i'm not asking for your recipes! :) just asking what sites you like for recipes.

ImthaBOMBlikeTICKTICK --- 6 years ago -

Sorry for how big the first ones are they must not of resized.lol.

Honestly - I grabbed the first homemade vanilla cake recipe I could find - and started tweaking till i made it perfect. Now, I use that as my base for EVERYTHING. And I add according to flavors people like, or want, and key is I always try to put a spin on everything. But thats just me, I dont think I have EVER left one single recipe alone whether it be food or deserts, or drinks!

Mommy that cake you brought over is delish. Every time my youngest sees the box he points at it and starts yelling at me, gotta love terrible 2's. The cake is so moist.

MommyX2 --- 6 years ago -

Awww, Im glad you loved it!!!!!!!! I tried something new with the chocolate shavings on top, I was living my craving through you guys! I hope you guys feel better too!

CharlieWhiskey --- 6 years ago -

They look easy to make, just time consuming.

Mrs AJ --- 6 years ago -

I make mine with my cake pop maker. It cooks perfect little balls of cake, then I insert the stick, and dip into chocolate or melts. I personally LOVE cake pops, but don't like the cake/frosting regurgitated kind, I'm a texture person lol.

The only downside is not being able to make shapes :(

DocsWife --- 6 years ago -

CharlieWhiskey, I'm ordering some for a party I'm having. You should do that to entice people to come to yours :)
