when picking your next duty station did your husband getwhat he put?? my husband put cp for all 3 choices. im kinda freaking out.. thinking they are going to say he wants this.. we will send him to the east coast or japan..lol
and how far out do you find out where you will go?? 

My husband put his one choice in back to CP 2 weeks ago and got it. His monitor got back to him in less than a week. We leave in about 4.5 mos! 

we have 6 months left... but he will take 30 days leave so my son can finish the last month of school/

RS Denver. We will be taking the boys out of school and transferring them. We are using his 30 days to drive back.

This was years and years ago, but my husband asked for LeJeune, Quantico, or Japan and he was sent to 29 Palms LOL. Not to scare you, just saying it can be where you want, or totally random!

Kaycee and Gorgeous are your hubbys in the reserves? I wanted Denver but my husband said that Colorado was for reservists only. 

No recruiting duty 

We are heading back to Camp Pendleton, it was his first choice. He also had a by-name request going into recruiting for RS Portland and he got it. Didn't get the exact RSS but close. 

We wanted to stay Cali, we got 10 hours away from Pendleton, so I guess we got what we wanted, not the exact city. 

Lavender - my husband is graduating next week and he got his by name. We got where we wanted down to city! 

Lav- there seems to be a lot of people being given the places they want with the past few classes. My husbands top three were Florida, Texas and STL---wtf? We got STL. So, better off getting a by-name because as long as they have room, they seem to be honoring them...

thanks ! its been along time coming.. recruiting duty def. is hard... im ready to be back in the normal grove of things..( the last few months have sucked)..lol 

KayceeD- our top pick was cp- and got it. we have another 4 months left recruiting in RS NJ- but hubby said last night- ," I honestly think I would've been ok with getting Japan as long as it meant I'm getting the hell out of recruiting."...lol. 

Our by name request was San Francisco...we got Puyallup, WA..

We put in for Kansas City, MO because my twin sister and her husband are stationed here. Also we are only 3 hours from home. We had to do what they call ab y name request, so basically my brother in law requested us to come there. We had the opportunity to come home and meet with the SgtMjr of the recruiting station here and we lucked out and got it! It just varys, some people get what they want, others dont. But good luck on recruiting, it freaking sucks, long lonely days, especially if you don't work! Just prepare for him to be gone allllll the time. anywhere from 7am-11pm. It SUCKS! 

We did finishing RD in Indiana and heading back to CA 

it's funny-technically yes we did. BUT the way it works is that if you get a state within the district you technically got what you asked for. Because the districts are so big and you get three choices your chances are pretty good of supposedly getting what you wanted-tricky huh? Example-our last choice was NY (I think that was it) and he got New Hampshire-technically it was in the same district so we got what we wanted LOL.
Your best bet is like others have suggested and that is a by name request.
