So San Onofre had their kindergarten orientation today and due to the mass amounts of talking people I only caught about half of what they said. I get the bringing snack thing, but thought I heard something said about bringing a reusable separate snack bag. Did anyone else that was there catch it or do any other parents have something they use for it? I'm not sure what kind of reusable bag they're talking about, because a lunch box would obviously be too big. Thanks!!!

Like they have to bring a little reuseable pouch? They can't have baggies?

Mommy2Angels --- 6 years ago -

That's why I'm confused...I guess they're trying to go green?

Speaking of reusable containers

Weird... lol cool idea, but I like my containers that I don't have to wash at work if I don't want to :)

LOL I hear ya. I actually think these would be cool to have at home because storing them would be easy. I could stick them in a drawer! I am not so down with the spoon, but the other little containers are so cute.

I've tried to make a few of those. PUL is a pita for me... Wish I had a serger, then it would be a no brainer lol

I've learned that if I fold a piece of computer paper and put it over the seam, it's really easy to sew, and really easy to tear off, otherwise it's all grippy and doesn't work at all for me.

I was there. They said to pack the snack in a reusable bag. If you send it in a brown paper bag, they would send the bag home for them to reuse again. lol I got a 3-pack of reusable lunch totes from Target for about $10 that I am sending my child for his snack use.

Oh Em Gee! duh! lol I can't believe I didn't try this! I tell people to use tissue paper all the time at work and it never crossed my mind lol I guess I was super tired last time I tried and just got frustrated.

PUL

PUL? what is that?

☆.bright eyes.☆ --- 6 years ago -

PUL? what is that?

Polyurethane Laminated fabric. It's just fabric with a plastic-y coating on 1 side that makes it waterproof.

SkullGirl --- 6 years ago -

Oh, I know what laminated fabric it, I've just never heard it called that. I make aprons out of it.

3Js mommie --- 6 years ago -

Yeah I was there as well, you couldn't hear anything. But what I caught was the kids can't have brownies or cookies for snack and to bring a reusable bag. I also put my kids snack is a plastic container.

A little off the subject, but is anyone else's child in a split class?

Green Chick --- 6 years ago -

Pul is more like a stretchy soft laminated fabric, not really like a plastic laminated fabric. I guess it is a hospital fabric that is used also in cloth diaper covers to waterproof them. :)
