I bit my tongue the other day and it turned into a canker sore. I googled and apparently it's common for that to happen. Ive been putting orajel on it but it still hurts like a mother....

Anyone know how to make it stop hurting? It's hard to eat and talk. Ughh! 

Salt water gargle. 

Mine does the same thing. I was always told put salt on it. It hurt, but it worked. There is also medicine at Walmart that tastes like pepermint and it doesnt hurt. 

anbesol works great for me. 

The salt water made it feel better for a few minutes. Ughh these things suck!! I don't get them often though. This is maybe the third one I've ever had.

I always take a q-tip, dip it in water, then dip it in salt and then hold it directly on the canker sore. Hurts so bad but it always makes it go away faster.

on your tongue? ewwww lol. What is a canker sore? I thought that was the same thing as a fever blister. I didnt even know you can get that on your tongue 

They are crater like sores that show up on your gums, inner cheek/lip, and tongue. They are not contagious and they aren't caused by a virus like cold sores. They are usually caused by a local trauma(which is the case for me because I bit my tongue), hormones, stress etc. They are gross looking and they hurt like a mother effer
