Edit: My bad. I didn't realize Nicole Kidman had fertility issues.

What do you guys think about celebrities paying someone to carry their child so they don't have to? I find it interesting to say the least.

The couple below is not the first nor will be the last. Camille had someone carry both her children.

Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban were displaying some serious PDA last night at the Golden Globes.

Maybe the newest addition to their family played a part in their blissful happiness!

The couple revealed today that they are the proud parents of a baby girl who was born via a surrogate!

Faith Margaret Kidman Urban arrived Dec. 28 at Nashville's Centennial Women's Hospital.

She was born through a gestational carrier and is the biological daughter of Kidman and Urban.

The family said in a statement:

"Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier."

Congratulations! We're so happy for you! 

There may have been medical reasons why they went that route. I know her kids with Tom are
Adopted. I think she had a baby a couple of years ago but whose to say something hasn't happened since.

I edited the above. I didn't realize she had fertility issues. I knew she adopted the first two. Then had one. I just figured, which I shouldn't have, that she was just choosing to use a surrogates. It seems all too common anymore in Hollywood. 

I don't see a problem with it. No one knows someones medical history or the real reason why a celebrity would choose that route so it doesn't bother me any. 

although i have no problem with surrogates and wouldnt begrudge a person wanting to have children i think at almost 44yrs old (Kidmans age) you need to ask yourself what nature intends for you as well (and im saying that as an older mom myself)

I didn't mean it at all that way. I don't mind them using gestation surrogates if their is a valid reason. If it's just for vanity then I kind of have the same feelings on that as I do about celebrities adopting truckloads of kids. 

I think it perfectly fine, I am in the process of being a surrogate and I think being able to give a couple wither it be a celebrity couple or not is an amazing thing. There are people out there that don't deserve to have children but they do and then there people who would be excellent parents but just can't do it on there own they need a little help getting to that goal of being a parent. 

totally dumb question but.... when you do "surrogate" does the genes come from BOTH parents....or does that one carrying the child give the child that persons gene? dumb question to some but I dont know a thing or two about that sort of stuff.
